like I said in the " end of the world" thread, I will explain my self here. The more u think about it, the more pointless stem cell seems. you create a life and then destroy it to save another but you still lose a life so what is the point? are they saying that the other person is more important then the embryo just because it cant walk and talk yet? maybe I have not heard the whole argument but it seems stupid and pointless to me. It is the same thing as abortion. It makes me sick!!!! :barf:

by all means post your opinions but lets try to keep this clean.

Stem cells can be harvested from an already aborted baby. I dont know what to say about abortion but if its already dead you might as well use it to save others so its no longer killing to save another. As for abortion I really dont have an opinion im not female and I dont know to much about it but if its just a couple of cells is it really human?

Babies dont have to be killed to harvest stem cells roll%20eyes%20%28sarcastic%29.gif Through stem cell research, we could get 100x times further into the study of medicine than we are now. Newer cheaper medication alternatives could be found and mass produced. Think about it.

I cannot understand right-to-life people for this reason... If the embryo has not been born yet how can you call it alive? It could die after it would be taken for stem-cell research but before it comes out. What would happen if there is a still-birth pregnancy, is it or was it alive? Also, the embryo is dependent on the mother to be "alive". I think that stem-cell research needs to be continued because there will always be sperm and the ability to get pregnant. However, a cure for diseases like parkinsons is right in front of us. Do you want an embryo that is technically not living and cannot use it's sensory abilities properly, or diseases that could kill you. I would rather have a cure for my diease than a still-born child that is useless.

Biology staes that the smallest unit if life is a single cell. An embryo is multiple cells. Thats how.

It could die after it would be taken for stem-cell research but before it comes out.

A bit confusing. Please reword.

What would happen if there is a still-birth pregnancy, is it or was it alive? Also, the embryo is dependent on the mother to be "alive".

its still alive, its it's own being.

However, a cure for diseases like parkinsons is right in front of us

a cure for diseases like parkinsons is right in front of us

And all it requires is making an artificial human and harvesting its organs/DNA. How convienient

Do you want an embryo that is technically not living and cannot use it's sensory abilities properly, or diseases that could kill you.

The latter thanks. I don't agree with taking that away from a person for my own selfish sake.
