Now I'm for Stem cell research and saving lives but to take a more blunt point of view: With all these lives we are saving, wont that just create a larger population which will cause more pollution, less resourses, and overpopulation. After that if no feesable solution is found won't the human race become extint or at least decrease in number greatly?
just another way of looking at it...
But nothing is going to stop the pop. growth.
But somehow it needs to be slowed to a manageable level or even balanced all together. Or else we'll outgrow Earths ability to sustain us then we are royally screwed
Currently diease is the main limiting factor that I can think of. The Ozone layer, etc. will become life threating problems later but they arent the worst now. If you cure all or most dieases then there will be population gowth, to what extent I dont know, but it is quite possible for that scenario to happen.
i want for there to be breeding licences, but i don't want that much government control. ARGH I'm so conflicted!
You educate all the people in Africa giving birth to like 15 kids and only having 4 survive, and you do something about god damn India. That is how you halt population growth; Stem Cells have nothing to do with it at all.
I'm way cooler than n0e (who isn't though?)

it is mainly due to the prevelant lack of education and thus superstitions and isnt good reproduction rates hallmark of a successful species , i'm sure all the american and european white population will be placed in endangered species in a century if their reproductive rates keep dipping this thread is about stem cell research if i remember right!!!:deal:
Stem Cells i believe are there to save peoples lives, population is another issues. If I knew someone who had a lot of kids, id be sure they wouldn't care about population but would just rather their kids survive.
Stem Cells don't save more lives then they fix them.
Look at Christopher Reeves.
With Stem Cells he can walk; without them, he cannot.
Well Christopher Reeves is also a loser.
