Yes swearing is overboard.
Yes i think it has picked up but it doesn't really bother me. There are many different situation that a swear word can be used and i dont find them offensive.

People here in Germany need a bit more swearing. German just doesn't seem to be designed for swearing, at least in the region I live in. But if you consider what Tarantino told Moore in Cannes ("You gotta win that Palm fucking D'Or!" ) you may be right that it is a bit too much :)
I didn't make it!
Yes where I live, the word fuck means about 1000 differant things. Even my teachers swear. What is up with that?

When you're having a civilised discussion with somebody (anybody), swearing has no place. Therefore, if you cannot state your opinion without swearing, you should just shut up. GF and especially the Pub is a place for civilised discussion... or at least it is suposed to be.
Yes, swearing has gone overboard, although it doesn't matter too much to me really I'm used to it.
I pretend to do stuff.

I as well go to a Catholic school, and in my opinion, I swear more than anybody else but only to my friends, and only in a fun nature. Yes, swearing has gone way ovrboard, there are these redneck kids on my street, one of them is around six and I've heard this kid swear more than a surly sailor.

I agree, if u are trying to have a civilised discussion swearing doesn't help or get ur point across at all. But in normal every day speech it is something we all use and are used to
