Swearing shows a lack of respect for the people you are talking to. People who use swear words in everyday conversation are just showing that they have a very limited vocabulary, they are not educated, they cannot express themselves properly. If I'm talking to someone and they use a lot of swear words then they just drop right down in my esteem. The TV is even worse, they are like little children who want to create a sensation by putting in a few swear words, it usually means that the programs lacks both originality and content.

swearing has gone overboard. ppl now choose to rather simply yell and cuss than express ideas in an intelligent manner. I have been known to do this, but it is a flaw that I wish I could abolish. Swearing could and should be limited in all respects.

swearing has gone overboard. I see 4-6 years old swearing and they even used the more "advanced" (and hard) swears. That bothers me a lot. I think that i'm used to it but it still bothers me. I agree with akula on this one.

Theres a time and a place for it... In civilized conversation, it shouldn't be used. I myself tend to use them in my music at times to add onto the expression of Angst on the heavier stuff I write. But i still use it sparingly... I dont do what Limp Bizkit did with the song 'hotdog' and stick "FuĀ©k" in the song about 50 times. As with most things, there is a time and a place for it. :nodding:

Yeah, he was thoroughly pissed. Someone stole it from inside his SUV. He looked for it for a week, gave up and bought a new more expensive one which he said his wife did not approve of.

My mtb cost about $650 but its a lot for me. Back on topic, Swearing is more often because of TV and movies.

I don't see the big deal about swearing. I mean, they are only words right? They are just equally "mean" as stupid, or dumb. They have the same meaning, most of them.

just showing that they have a very limited vocabulary, they are not educated, they cannot express themselves properly

That's what people on their high horse say to try and annoy people who swear by giving off the impression of a superiority complex.

I think people who are even slightly disturbed or offended by swearing are fools. Derogatory terms are one thing, 'gays' for example, offends an entire race or group of people by expressing what you actually think of them by using a word that describes them as an insult. But the rest... they're just words. Have you ever died because someone's said shit to you? Piss? Fuck? Crap? No? OK then. Have they ever inflicted injuries on you? Caused disease? Famine? Family fatalities? No? OK then. What's the problem here?! Focus your attention on something more worthwhile than your petty social commentary which serves only to make you feel better and more important than everyone else.
