Over the last week I was with my family a bit and happened to talk to my cousin who happens to be in the FBI. If you don't know yet, I live in New York, so he always tells me quite a bit. Well anyway, we came upon talking about some threats that were going on and he told me that they were false. However he as we got deeper into conversation he happened to mention the attack in the summer. I got him to bring it back up, and what he told me is there is a 95% chance there will be another Terrorist attack in New York over the summer, if they are not caught, and thats all of them. I am not really scared or anything because I don't exactly live close enough to be severly affected by the island. Just thought it would be an interesting topic to discuss. Also, I dont want my cousin getting in trouble, so I am not mentioning any names.
Well, it isn't just terrorism in New York that we should be worrying about, but also terrorism in DC. Did your cousin happen to mention anything about DC? (it has always kind of surprised me that New York seems to be the focus of more terror threats than the capital)
The difference between the threat in New York and DC is that New York is much more conjested, so an attack in new york would kill alot more then in DC, which is what the focus of terrorism is. He didn't mention anything about DC, but he doesn't do anything for DC so he wouldn't know.

are you serious I am going to be watching the news I want to know the whole shebiel...lol I still remeber what I was doing the day of 9/11
Hmmm, I would think an apartment building or two from either city would pretty much be equal opportunity targets.
well the thing is there are much more apartment buildings in New York, they are taller, and you have the major building right next to peoples apartment buildings, such as the UN building, Wall Street. When I went to visit the WTC this summer i noticed there are about 10 apartments and about 5 gigantic hotels right on the same street that the WTC is on. The streets are also alot more conjested, its alot worse then you see in movies and shows. Sometimes you have to wait 5 minutes just to get through 1 block.
Yes, I've been to New York a few times, and know that it is quite crowded. I guess maybe the psycological effects would be different depending on the location of an attack. Anyways, I really hope we catch more of these fuckers before than can do more stuff to us. It isn't so much the short term I am worried about, but it is the long term. Our borders are so porous I don't see how we ever have a chance of keeping more and more terrorists out. (look how many illegal immigrants are in America, we are in serious need of improvement in this are of national security)

Everytime I hear about attacks on New York I get very pissed off. I quote the Egyptian father who's 10 year old son was killed by terrorists in Saudi Arabia last week: "What is this? Terrorism, Islam, whatever. Those are not Muslims."
Sometimes I feel like joining some counter terrorist outfit just to personally hunt down these psychos.
Note to self: Find pants.

A terrorist attack in the city of New York, if the terrorists got ahold of one of our nukes, could kill up to 8 million people. More likely, the attack would be conventional, and kill 50-1000 people. The likelihood of a terrorist attack is closer to about 0.095%. Your FBI agent is smokin' something to pull bullshit like that out of his ass.
