Großadmiral DönitzHmm intresting! The history of english (and other languages) is quite intresting, too bad that the french language got involved :(

Hey, if not, we might be speaking the same language! :p

DarthSporkyI don't mind if people spell stuff like "you" as "u". But if they don't use proper grammer, making their posts hard to read...that really annoys me, and I just usually ignore their posts.

using 'u' instead of 'you' isn't proper grammar.

'Dreadnought[DK']using 'u' instead of 'you' isn't proper grammar.

It's just lazy. It's a mere two extra letters...

The word is grammar, and "u" over "you" doesn't have anything to do with it.

Mission accomplished :D. Unfortunately, I may have taken it too far. If someone who talks like that comes to this thread, I may have inadvertently opened up a dialogue with them :uhm:. Hopefully, though, it's well beyond even their grasp. Nothing like a dose of your own medicine to change your ways. That's the theory I'm going with, anyway.

I'm laughing at all the 16 year olds and those that are older, who think it is "cool" to bastardise their English. You have a shock coming. When you leave the closeted world of "Education" and go into the real world of work, you will have acquired some pretty bad habits with respect to the use of English. Your reports, or other documents, will be scrutinised by old buggers like me. I take a particular delight in shredding these reports because they are either not grammatically correct or use “cool” abbreviations. You might think it is a little harsh for me to do this. However my engineers represent the company and if the first communication a customer receives is riddled with errors, then it makes the company look bad. I have one engineer at the moment that has had more than 6 attempts to complete a test report. His probation period expires this month. He thinks he is being kept on. I don’t!
