I don't believe that the USA will attack Iran after Iraq, it simply can't afford a second major campaign from economic or political point-of-view. Possible airstrikes against Iran nuclear facilities are more likely.
Those Iranian's sure dont sound like pushovers, of course the USAF will destroy anything with more then 4 bricks and 4 wheels related to their militairy with relative ease, but i have no doubt a war with iran would be much much bloodier.
Well as we learned from Iraq, the initial war would probably be a cakewalk (although I know Iran's army is significantly better than Iraq's was initially, but using conventional warfare methods, the US wasted Iraq's army) and then it would probably be followed by years of insurgency and huge spending till we got the hell out of there. Definitely can not afford another war-- especially one that nobody likes.
Can't afford another war, but that doesn't mean its not going to happen.
and if that war is started, guess who will have to fight it? You and me. You would think the idiots in our government would, you know, learn from past mistakes they have made....
Learn? You mean the thing you are supposed to do at Harvard and Yale?

its called drafting. they did it in vietnam and they probobley will do it again. the recruiting is much lower now that a war is on.
TThat is generally the case. Unless its a war that everyone wants in on, like the American Civil War(the early part)
Crazy WolfLearn? You mean the thing you are supposed to do at Harvard and Yale?
Government learning? Silly me.
That tends to be the biggest reasons for repeating mistakes, the guys in charge don't know their history...
