The ultimate informational resource. The place were we can be anyone anywhere. To make everlasting friendships with anyone in the world. A place where we can learn, become informed. And through that knowledge, we can accept other ideas, religions, cultures, peoples. We will not fear the unknown. Human kind has been given an opportunity that might not come again. The internet is the catalyst for peace. With internet, we can hear the peons of a country, not their government. We can hear their grievances, we can hear their plights, and that is how we can make our judgment. The threads that bind us together knows no boundaries, knows no religion, knows no race, knows no gender. We can be anything we want to be, whoever we are. Through the internet we can walk again, hear again. We can get a second chance. We are no longer crippled, paralyzed, hurt. Our past no longer haunts us. The peoples of any nation can talk to any other people of any other nation. Language no longer a hindurance. There is no judgment. There is no class, no superior. Every person on earth is equal on the internet. That is peace.

The only big barrier is that countries like China and Cuba still filter their people's acess to sites for fear that they may "get an idea to revolt"

Hopefully, google's translator(easy to use, automatically translates pages) will get finished, debugged and optmized so that we can get rid of the last parts of the languae barrier.

Yeah, it's kind of funny when you have ANYTHING you could ever want to know or see in front of you (Hell, you can look up a satellite photo of anywhere in the world), yet, you find yourself bored surfing the web. Kind of paradoxal. There are some REALLY neat projects going down on the internet. Anyone know of any? I'll start off: 1)Wiki(whatever) 2)Google Earth

the internet is the most precious thing we got, we have to keep it like it is now, anonomous.

That doesn't make sense. We shouldn't keep it like it is now, because it should be ever-changing and ever-updating.

Ahh yes, anonymousity. Who am I? Am I a random 12 year old? Am I 100? Am I George Bush? Am I Madonna? Am I Osama Bin Laden? I could be anyone and you'd never know :)

we cannot judge you as a little kid or a president, thus we are all on equal ground :D

Anon is what makes the internet like it is

Yeah but assuming the people with 3000+ posts are geeks is always a good start! :) I'm JUST KIDDING! I think the anonymity of the internet gives you that sort of unapologetic road-rage feeling. Thats why people are so quick to punish for *clearly* accidental tks in games like BF2. They attribute road-rage partially to the fact that you really can't see the person in the other car, and there is no human sense of apology there. You don't *usually* start freaking out when someone bumps into you in person. Also, the internet is a cesspool of different views that would normally be seperated geographically. I can't believe some of the people I meet on the internet are for real, maybe because of their views on things. We just don't have certain people where I live, and vice versa.

Also interesting is internet phenomena, like goatse or the Star Wars kid. It can be an outlet for some really sick people. Also incredible is that I can, from a across the internet, in a matter of less than a second, shoot someone in New Zealand from here (Canada) in the head. I mean wow. That is incredible.
