Well it's a great source and tool for both good and bad. It has the potential to unite people all over the world but also to split them up and cause anger and distrust.

Then there is the language barrier and the fact that even though it's accesability people still stick to their "own" comminties. Western people tend to stick to western websites, asians to asian sites, people from the middle east to sites from the middle east etc. Even without the language barrier people probably would prefer to stick to their "own" group/community.

In all it's a nice tool but far from perfect.

Don't under-estimate it Donitz. You and I weren't really there when it wasn't around. You get so accustomed to all the information being at your fingertips, and research is incredibly easy now! We devote plenty of our time to it too. I can't imagine truly wondering about something and having to go to the library to look it up. Oh, and another neat thing on the internet: ImDB! They have everything!

Yes, the internet is a great place but from past experience its not always been a safe place if you know what I mean.

Nothing, I mean nothing, compares to real life. Nothing.

Have to agree with you. Everything happens in real life, like that I'm writing this post :D

Internet isn't some allmighty gift to humanity that saves us all and makes us superior beings. It's like human life with its many good and bad sides because we humans created it, develop it and use it. In the end, it's just little bit different.

P.S. Some experts believe that internet will crash in few years because of vast amount of junk mail etc.

The internet can become something that can help us achieve peace. We can use it to remove the natural judgement that you have when you see someone in person.

one person at a time.

The internet is still a giant breakthrough that allows for the transfer of all types of information within seconds. I think very much that it has enhanced our lives, maybe not personally, but in the way that business is done, among other things.
