The latest bit of nonsense that people like to believe - the Da Vinci code. http://www.macleans.ca/culture/books/article.jsp?content=20060515_126652_126652 When I first heard about the fad - any right thinking person knew it was a load of nonsense. (Any "expert" who doesn't know that "Da Vinci" is a referrence to his home, not his name - has no idea what he's talking about) People will believe anything they're told.
Yes Im not going to waste my time reading a book by some self procliamed expert peagen. My mom loves this book and belives every word of it and I dont know why.
The latest? That book has been out for at least a few years now.
USMA2010The latest? That book has been out for at least a few years now.
Its part of a trend. There's also some bit of nonsense out about a "gospel" supposedly written by Judas, and a bunch of other related nonsense stories.
It is for enjoyment only. I hate how people read fiction novels and belive them as truth. Then to make this even more ridiclous, they make a movie out of it. Then the Catholic church goes aganist it's "turn the other cheek" doctrine it has used for 2,000 years and wants to sue Dan Brown for the book and movie. Two weeks ago my chuch gave people a pamphlet about the movie. Is there a need for it? No. All they needed to say was "this is a movie for enjoyment, not some fact based story"
The people fail for being stupid enough to belive this The Church fails for going aganist it's belief that you should ingore something Dan Brown makes a ton of money.

Well people buy it, I won't touch all this with a 20 meter pole but atleast I can laugh out what other people are capable of buying or getting hyped about. :p
It's a thoroughly entertaining book, but it's still a fiction book, so you kind of have to take what you read with a grain of salt. I look forward to the movie, though.
Machiavelli's ApprenticePeople will believe anything they're told.
That is one reason why I don't believe on masses rather than on individuals.
The whole Da Vinci Code-hyping bugs me, like it would be some greatest thing that has happened in this century, not to mention that actually some people believe in it.

the movie wont help this nonsense at all either
well, off to work!!!
I guess it is all in the "This revelation will shock the foundations of human beliefs". Cos everybody likes something that is a conspiracy, it is just the way the human mind works, we always have to question something despite the fact that it is true. Like the Lunar landing conspiracys.
