So. What will happen in the middle east after he's gone? Will the cooporation between Israel and Palestine improve or decline?

Personally, I think it will weaken Israels position down there, as Sharon were one of the main people behind the Israelian agression (or whatever you want to call it).

Master jew? Heh that made me chuckle. :giggle:

I hope somebody will come in to power who is willing to talk and make true peace, but for all we know he gets replaced by a person who doesn't want to come anywhere close to a palestinian. We can hope for the best though.

When the two main characters (Sharon and Arafat) are both gone (Sharon looks to pass rather soon after Arafat died sortof) died new paths might be discovered, let's hope the right path will be walked this time. All we want (on who ever's "site" you might be) wants peace, how many disagree with though.

BOTH sides need someone willing to opt for a real peace. But yes, for Israel someone who is willing to talk and prepared to make concessions.

Sometimes a fresh opinion can be good for international relations. Sometimes leaders get stuck in a rut - cultural, or political. Not to say Ariel Sharon wasn't doing what he believed to be best, but I am hoping if Israel elects/puts forth a new Prime Minister, perhaps a fresh point of view might help the situation between Israel and Palestine.

I am hoping that is the case, anyway. I am mostly hoping it just doesn't get worse.

PNA needs to get stronger which mean some International armed force is required to assist them to stabilize the Gaza strip.Just becuz Israeli forces moved out doesn't mean there will be rose gardens everywhere.

I understood it anyways.hehe.its sad since there was a peace process going on and we don't know who will become the next leader.Shimon Peres have decided not to run for the elections and he told Olmert to.If that Benjamin guy becomes the Prime Minister ,everything's gonna be so screwed.

I am mostly hoping it just doesn't get worse.

me too.

Well of course we all hope it will get better, that goes without saying. But what also should go without saying is that Israel will probably be vulnerable for a while now. Sharon was a contriversal man, but one who did what was best for his country, seemed like a fine leader to me.

Who knows? He might have a full recovery.

Didn't the main doctor working saying there'd be at least some permanent damage? But yes I hope he recovers to the best he can.

Airdrop candy into the entire region.

I guarantee you both sides will stop fighting, fill their helmets and just start eating.

It's worth a shot... :)
