Well, I wouldve put this in the IAF thread or AL Jazeera English, but most people tend to ignore any topic having to do with Palastine and Israel :p By the way...head to the note at the end of my post.

_______________________________________________________________

First I want to point out my own view and what I saw over the past month. pif your american]Maybe youve seen it differently?(doubtful) Ok so I was watching CNN yesterday, and theyre reporting a Qassam rocket barrage..4 Israeli civilians wounded and one of them was a 17 yearold boy. A few days before other qassam rocketing was being reported.

What im saying is..Ive hardly seen any news coverage of the 18 family members(of the same family) that died from an accidental artillery barrage(I think they said it was a Merkava, I doubt it was though) Or the other time when that group of palastenian women(200) went to save thier men and I think one was shot. Another time a 70 yearold woman and a 4 yearold died in the same incident.

This isnt a which side is right and which side is wrong topic..this is a WHY is our media only cherry-picking reports out of the area and showing them to the american people, in a very biased way? Its so wrong how they keep showing one side of the story. Europeans actually get both sides of the story(most of the time), and I think most of Asia.

http://www.rememberthesechildren.org/ (the link shows children from both sides) http://www.ifamericansknew.org/ this is a better link, has more data, and more proof of inconsistencies in the media reportings and coverage. And has EVERYTHING from resolutions to homes demolished to deaths(over all) and children deaths(to show differences).

And since this is a media topic, lets keep it general, add in things like, why does the media always show iraqies getting blown up, but dosent show the work we've done in Iraq so far(apart from the destruction) weve been doing many great things. So add in your own ranting and comments of other things as well.

NOTE: REMEMBER THIS ISNT A WHICH SIDE IS RIGHT AND WHICH IS WRONG, IT IS ABOUT, HOW TO FIX THE MEDIA, AND WHY THEY ARE BIASED. LETS KEEP IT CIVILIZED.

because they pick a side and show reports to support it. CNN is usually the best 24 hour news network. i like the BBC website for news.

My point exactly..BBC, its really almost the only western media source, where I get my news from..why? They always report both sides of any story. Yes they COULD be biased in a way like other medias, but it isnt as prevalent as media in the united states.

I strongly disagree there Czech.

CNN is a significant name in news and has been for some time now, however they have always - since their conception - drifted so passionatly towards the left of the political spectrum.

In 1996 Robert Murdoch founded Fox News on the premise that all other news media was significantly bias. In this time he purposfully staffed the station with more conservative staff so that the viewers of America can watch CNN for one point of view, and Fox News for another.

Since it's founding Fox News has slowley but surley added additional members to their staff of Liberal Affiliation. Judge Nepalentano: Liberal - Colmes: Liberal, Various Panelists on Fox and Friends First, Fox News Sunday, Your World with Neil Cavuto, The Grape Vine with Britt Hume, the list goes on.

Fox News is attempting to bring balance to news Media however it is also important to note that you should get information from all points of view in order to make an educated opinion of your own.

In terms of news coverage right after the fact I believe CNN and it's affiliates still have it there, however after the fact I believe Fox does a better job of analyzing it.

It's also important to note that I recently spoke with a guy from Canada, he's 15. He went on and on about anti-american sentiments. I asked him why he was so passionate about America and it's faults. You know what he said to me? He said to me, "That's how CNN explains it."

Fox claims to be fair and balanced. so far i see far from it. i think cbs is the best american news station though. i dount think its divided by liberal and conservative, more like one who asks more tough questions and not. that rumsfeld interview by fox was so bad, the reporter might as well have been sucking rumy's cock. i mean that was as soft reporting as you can get.

btw: I love your sig.

FOX News is not even attempting to be objective. It's a Republican propaganda machine.

But yes, all media outlets are biased, and too many don't even try to be objective. Worse yet, a lot of people take this as how it "should be": "It's how they sell commercials", "you can always watch other channels", "they're businesses like all others, so it's OK", and so on and so forth.

My stance: Media should be objective.

How to accomplish that? I have no freaking idea whatsoever.

To an extent, I agree. Fox News has a couple of simple basic points:

Democrats are for the terrorists Democrats are stealing your money The economy is doing great (*notice that they have stock checks almost EVERY hour*)

Their programs are dry and their panel of old blowhards is uninspiring.

My stance: Media should be objective.

How to accomplish that? I have no freaking idea whatsoever.

Mass Media will never be objective because it is all about the almighty dollar. The reason why CNN is incredibly liberal and FOX is conservative is because they are both giving the news how people want to hear it.

I watch CNN for breaking news then go online and research stories im interested in on AP news, BBC, Reuters. Heck I even go to ITAR-TASS just to see what they say on subjects.

I occasionally watch NBC and CBS but have never bothered watching FOX news.

Yup..They're selling people thier stories, they arent reporting jacksh*t..

Ive had a different theory of maybe..These stations get money from a certain organizations/companies and they dont show news that might be offensive to them?
