Why is it that the rest of the world uses John Wayne movies as visual media for their school classes? No, seriously. Whenever I go abroad, and I mention that I'm from Texas, they automatically bring up cowboys and horses? Some actually ask me if we still ride horses all over the place. No joke. I heard about this before and thought it was a joke, but people seriously ask this.

Why is it that the only thing about Florida foreigners know about is Disneyland? Every British person who I've ever met in the US has been there, but can't tell me anything else about the state.

True or false. California is one giant movie set? False. California has people in it and the population of that state would be that of a medium-sized European country.

Why do American citizens who do not support the war end up being the target of criticism? Don't foreigners know that not everybody here is of one mindset? Apparently they know there are Democrats and Republicans, and they hate each other, but God forbid if they got the notion that not all Americans are the same.

Oh, I'm sure not every foreigner is ignorant. It's just that some are really dumb.

You know who pisses me off the most? New Guineans. They don't know anything about my state.

i never considered california as a giant move set. it never crossed my mind until you just mentioned it.

wherever you go, sooner or later you will find someone who is dumb. every village has it's idiot.

i didn't want to be rude, sorry if it looks that way. sadly, people tend to stick to stereotypes. those who learn about usa trough movies usually believe in them. i myself am interested in every country in the world and want to learn interesting information about it. every culture is unique in it's own way. :)

Seriously? Blimey, someone is a little ignorant about foreigners, huh.

Aeroflotte;4042709 Why is it that the only thing about Florida foreigners know about is Disneyland? Every British person who I've ever met in the US has been there, but can't tell me anything else about the state.
I've never been there, and I never plan to go. I think of sun, beaches, oranges, swamps with crocodiles, the space program...

Aeroflotte;4042709 True or false. California is one giant movie set? False. California has people in it and the population of that state would be that of a medium-sized European country.
Indeed.
Why do American citizens who do not support the war end up being the target of criticism?

Do you mean from Americans, or from foreigners? I don't quite get your point here.

Being honest here, your political choices are right, slightly further right, or a crazy liberal communist bitch. The UK is similar in the choice we get, but mainland Europe has more political options.
Oh, I'm sure not every foreigner is ignorant. It's just that some are really dumb.

Agree 100%.

Cap'n Rommel;4042766What can you tell me about Denmark without looking up the internet?

The capital is Cobenhaven (Copenhagen). The only other city I know of is Aarhus, which is on the mainland portion called Jutland. In WWI the German and British navy fought off the coast of Jutland. Your comics aren't taken to be funny by Muslims. The bleu cheese I buy from the store is imported from Denmark. 'Goodbye' in Danish is 'Farvel', which is like our 'fair well'. Danish is very close to Swedish and Norwegian. The big island south of Cobenhaven is called Zeeland. There is a famous swimmer from Denmark, but I forget his name. That little island east of Denmark and south of Sweden is also part of Denmark. Greenland is owned by you. Oh, and your country is very flat.

That's about all I know. Maybe a couple more Danish words if I think about it enough... like god morgen

i guess you found our village idiot. what city were you in?

I was in Supetar on Brach, which is a little village. lol
