It’s not going to stop anytime soon. There are a host of reasons as to why this is happening, much too numerous to go into or really to discuss here on File Front as many are to close to the problem or are not yet old enough to reflect, but simply put young people – mostly of which this rage is festering from, no longer have the ability to fight using their words (primarily because of lack of education in my opinion), so this anger builds and builds until they snap; you even see it here on this forum. When someone has a good position or argument, some of the members unravel and I bet if they were face to face someone would get hurt, why, because their opponent is more versed on the subject? Hell, kids/teens can’t even box it out anymore like my generation did without the offended kid suing, the parents suing or some other restriction, becuase god forbid if we allow are young people to experience failure from time to time. People, especially young need to vent and our society is restricting less violent avenues, and well, shit like this happens on occasion.

Just realized that that... And to think... Maybe later that day a couple of them had plans to bang their girlfriends... Sad...

Another sad story to tell. Another grave to visit. Another life wasted.

You didn't add the other 3, the one mall, the other mall and the Lane Bryant store. (very recently) But I would like a study or the facts from columbine till now.I wonder of each case if these people were on anti depression drugs, I mean the "SRI" drugs. I bet they all were taking that nerve ending ruination agent chemical crap.

I know the media are supposed to be all fair and balanced and stuff, but I think theyre being a little too fair to the fuckers who do this shit. Maybe if they portrayed them as the cowardly little pieces of shit they really are, the notoriety they get from doing something like this wouldnt be a motive anymore. Then theyd go back to just hanging themselves in their closets instead of going out and taking other people with them.

:agreed Many of those people only start shooting people because they see on TV how much attention you can get if you kill people.

Columbine…I drive by the school on occasion. Anyway, from what I gathered the whole tragedy was a sad commentary on parenting. Columbine is a semi-upper middle class to wealthy neighborhood with its soccermoms and dads. The two boys that went berserk had the kind of mom and dad who allowed them to do anything and everything without discipline or guidance. From what I gathered talking to people in the area and from the constant barrage of media that these boys were often “seen (usually) and definitely were never heard”. Their journals cried out constantly for the interaction/love and emotional break down from lack thereof, and people who knew the boys and the family knew that the boys had emotional issues as a direct result of how their parents often treated them as trophies – paraded them around when it was convenient in certain social gatherings and then sent them away. And when they acted out, instead of finding out why, their parents had them put on mind altering drugs to subdue them cause god forbid teenagers act like teenagers and not mature adults. During one of the many hearings, psychiatrists admitted on the stand that medical science has no idea what drugs like Riddlin for example, do to developing minds, yet it was rushed through by the lobbyists, had a label slapped on it and given to parents who shouldn’t have been parents in the first place – nice huh.

Blame TV. If they didn't show it on news so much they wouldn't give some antisocial psychos a manual for what to do if you are psychicaly unstable person.

I like what Chris Rock said about it. "Guns, ammo, pipe bombs laying in the room?! Where were the parents? When I was 16 I couldnt get a Playboy magazine into my room and hide it."

IMHO I think part of the problem was touched on above. If the media would quit focusing on and sensationalizing these incidents then we would not see nearly as many copy cat crimes.

There was another case in the news this week in IIRC Boston. A mentally disturbed patient went into his psychologists office and hacked her to death with a meat cleaver and then attacked a colleague of hers who went to see what the screaming was about. I think the other victim was in critical condition.

The man escaped and last I knew there was a manhunt for him.

Within the last few years here in Indianapolis the cops were called to a mans house, he wound up being taken into custody and undergoing a psych evaluation. They said he was OK, and was released, he went to the Police station and got his guns back.

A few days later cops were called to the same guys house again only this time he opened fire and IIRC killed 2-3 people. wounded a few more before being killed.

The cops pressed for and were successful in passing a law that says if you are picked up for a psych evaluation you dont get your guns back. You forfeit them.

I know in Indianapolis at least Wal-Mart used to carry guns for hunting and target shooting but has now pulled them and several gun stores have gone out of business. Some due to not passing tighter gun law inspections and inspections by state and federal law enforcement.

I think there were even a few instances of undercover cops trying to buy guns illegally, were successful and arrested the gun store owner.
