You got to have a sense of humour to survive in the military anyway. Im biracial but look mostly like a white guy with a good tan and odd hair (if i let it grow out). I always put 'Black' on my census forms and what not so the joke was i the only Black guy in my WOCS class when at first glanced it looked like 23 white guys...

My nickname at WOCS was Token. i preferred my old AF nickname of Roman. /shrug lol

Token... I take it that's a South Park reference?

Joe Bonham;5468541What do you mean by "1.2%"? I've heard the average birth rate needs to be around 2.1 per family unit, 2 to replace the parents and .1 for the percentage of kids who die prematurely or whatever.
Population growth is the birth rate minus the death rate.

Joe Bonham;5468541Also bear in mind that the majority of service members are not going to be directly exposed to combat. And presumably the majority of women would be in non-combat roles, even if combat roles were open to them.

Draft, an equal society?
People who post those pictures usually have no sense of irony.

In my unit's command post there is a large picture up on the wall, labeled with bold letters "The Color Sergeant". The man shown in the picture is black. Good thing it was "color" and not "colored".

I was under the impression that humour, like all dangerous things, was best left in the hands of military professionals....

Ah ha!

Draft, an equal society?

Of course in real life the draft is never going to be applied equally. The rich will always find a way around it. Back in the American Civil War there were draft riots in New York City. Why? Because you could "buy" your way out of the draft with $300.

TheMirage;5468478Yupp. Alpha Battery, First Battallion, 11th Marine Regiment. You guys use the Paladins right? I seem to recall while I was at Ft. Sill that the Army was preparing to adopt the M777 in a limited capacity...

Nah, the 109 is to big for most of our needs, our assets tend to be towed guns with airlift ability so a mix of 119's and 198's. We DO have the M777 but its not very prevalent with the 2nd Battalion and the ones we use are actually assets of the 3rd that have been left in place. I havent seen a Paladin in A-stan at all.

It’s a Cold War It’s a Drug War It’s a War on Terror It is never ending And the people lose again

Making the world safe for democracy Rhetoric so far from reality

Carlyle, Halliburton, Bechtel Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld Dark alliances Intelligence and Oil execs. become Presidents and Prime ministers From America to Afghanistan Conflicts of interest No one seems to understand

And so we live in this Corporate militant Global Machiavellian nightmare With obsolete beliefs in nationality we identify ourselves in a national heritage that has fallen hostage to masterful propagandists Manipulating popular symbols The $acred and the $atanic

God ble$$ America Against the Axi$ of Evil

wave the flag$ in the mass mind

and the . . . masses sway
