Hell no. There's no such thing as demons. The idea of demons was used by ancient people to explain why people got sick or had various mental disorders. I'm undecided about ghosts though. I've never seen a ghost, but I know people who say they have.

D.Sporky!Well there is (IMO) a spiritual realm. But I do not believe that human's souls roam the earth. I believe that when one dies, his soul goes either to heaven or hell. Now, the opressive atmosphere you sensed could definately have been a demonic presence. I do believe that demons roam the earth, and that very well could have been what you experienced.

just curious, what form of protestantism do you follow?

well, i myself dont have any proof, but there are tons of photos, recordings, and a slew of other evidence that cant be denied.

i have never actually seen an apparition. but strange things happened in my house all the time. all the doors opening and closing at the same time, thing dissapearing and reapearing again, voices, all sorts of things. there was once instance where i had cleaned my room and went downstairs to tell my father it was finished, and when we went back up, the room was wrecked. i mean WRECKED. there was a bookcase on my bed, clothes and books were everywhere, it was a disaster. my father though i did it and i got in trouble. it was only a few minutes.(that i was away) there was no sound. i couldnt sleep for a week. i guess, i could believe it was a demon, or evil spirit or whatever you want to call it. i dont believe in Christianity. but there are strange things in the world. if there are good spirits(angels) then it stands to reason there are demons too. i take more of an Native American view of things. spirits are more like demi gods rather than angels and demons, but its all the same, really. but i go on. sometimes i ramble. sorry

Biggus DickusYeah...Unfortunatly, yes.

I don't know. It always seems as if some people on these forums cannot accept others opinions. A majority of Americans are Christians. Does that make a majority of Americans ignorant? Replying mostly to Mushroom here, and others who think that our ideas of religion are rediculous. Maybe they are? YOU nor WE know until we all die.

Right you are X-C, but I use my own logic and sense of reason to determine whether or not such supernatural claims hold any truth. It only depends on one's individual sense of logic and how each interprets the idea.

I simply feel that these ongoing debates over god, the devil, ghosts and such related topics are all utterly pointless. It is like shoveling smoke; someone believes that they have a valid topic to argue, but in the end the conversation has gone nowhere.

Of course, I needn't scrutinize others for their opinions, as that will only inflame the arguement, so please, carry on...
