If your physical prowess is as up-to-snuff as your comrades in arms, and you don't force your smoke on those who don't want to breathe it, I don't see the problem with smoking in the military. A few moments of pleasure isn't too much to ask in return for a few years of bullet-dodging hell.
That stupid flu mist that they give us every year never works anyhow.

Sure it does. it makes me sick as shit every year. Just in time for Thanksgiving.

Ok it doesnt work as it should. I still get the flu ON TOP OF the normal feeling like shit for 3 weeks.
Bohemund;4959618Will the US Military Ban Smoking? | ROK Drop How about these "advocates" mind their own damn business? I'm not a "shammer" just because I want to step outside the tent and smoke a cig. And what's that bullshit about smokers "washing out"? I've NEVER heard of anyone having to leave the military because of his smoking habit. NEVER. The only reason this whole movement is happening is because we have underworked captains and colonels who can't keep their noses out of other people's personal lives.
Well if your smoking, some low life solider could accidently drop a cigar on the fuel tank of a jeep or something and then, BOOM
US military vehicles use JP-8 for the most part in addition to diesel. the fastest way to put out a cig or match tends to be to just stick it in a bowl of that stuff. true story.

My concern with smoking that isn't based on lung/brain damage is how visible glowing cigarettes would be at night patrol, but troops know not to smoke when they're trying to be sneaky, right?
They'll probably learn that pretty quickly when they start attracting a suspicious amount of tracers. =p
Seriously though, not to smoke was probably the first thing they taught us about night combat.
Huffardo;4978202They'll probably learn that pretty quickly when they start attracting a suspicious amount of tracers. =p [/QUOTE] Tracers work both ways. But drawing fire would kinda piss off those around you so they would put the shit out for you.

Actually the first thing I was taught was to tape your shit up.
