What are you're guys' attitude to violence etc.? Do you believe it is acceptable in any situations? Does your religion influence your decisions? I guess according to my religion I'm supposed to be pacifist, but i still don't believe pacifism is right in all situations (e.g. self defence/helping those in need)., i guess it's one of my imperfections:rolleyes: Even though I'm not a Christian I think Aquinus' conditions for just war are good guidelines.

Violence is acceptible in some situations. And my religion has nothing to do with that belief.

Violence is acceptable in liberating the oppressed. That's about it. I someone strikes you, smile and turn the other cheek. They'll be shocked at your refusal to fight. This may not seem like it makes sence, but it works better than killing one who hits you!

My religion does influence this.

...or, they'll keep on hitting you and beat you into a bloody pulp. Either way, I guess... :lookaround:

Mine says "though shalt not murder (that's the correct translation)" I believe wars in most cases are justified, and self-defence is more than acceptable.

I'm more of a pacifist, but if the need arises [and I agree with the situation], I'll take up arms. I'm not religious in any way, I have my own rules and my own values, I dont need a book or person to tell me whats wrong and whats not.

pacifism is not always right , one may have to resot to violence when there is no other alternative

Ah excellent idea... Someone just knocked out your tooth, so u just get up and walk away...turn the other cheek, as you say, then they sock you in THAT cheek

HELL NO.....

I have broken someone's arm before in a fight...and I dont regret it.

Someone hits you, you retaliate and you attack back so hard that they wont be able to attack you agian,
