Sounds like you got a good mum. Listen to her. You will thank her later on, trust me ;)

They shouldnt force you to do a sport that you dont even like, however with studies.. meh, its for your own good, unless she locks you in your room for three hours a day to do homework.

I must agree with Raptor, school is very important though you shouldnt be forced into the books all day long or forced to do sports/ a certain sport.

I think kids should be forced to do a sport.

Your mother knows what's best for you, listen to her.

hmm forcing them would be a bit too much perhaps, they should be encouraged to do sports and do a decent amount of sport on school 3 hours per week at the mimimum! If a kid really doest like any sport i would probably just kick it towards the swimming pool so it will get some excersize, i certainly would require them to play outside (granted the wether is good). I would "force" kids to learn a healthy live and ensure they do enough about their condition, but wether this is by doing sports, swimming for the fun of it, spent time outside on the bike, skates, roadskates, on foot etc. wouldn't really matter to me. Having it do sports or join somesort of clun (sports or the boysouts or any other youth organization would be very good though for the kids education and social abilities. But then i doubt i will ever take kids myself, heh.

On the study part: believe me, as annoying as parents are, they're usually right. Sports: Easy. Find a sport you do like and tell your mother you want to do that. It should result in her dropping the pressure on you.
