Its not the act of giving them condoms, its teaching them to use the condoms. I can just see some guy using his extra longs for hauling food around in. The USA gives more money than the other countries of the world. Just because we can, in the eyes of a foreigner, afford to give more, does not mean that we are obliged to. Hell, we don't have to give any money at all. They very act of giving cash is also not nearly as important as what our armed forces do. Remember after the tsunami a carrier battle group en route home from Iraq was diverted to Indonesia to provide aid. That act alone cost millions of dollars and saved countless lives.

Oh yes american aid is crucial in all humanitarian project, I was just pointing out to mister here that america is not the only country in the world to actually do something. This is sad, but I noticed that since they do not hear about it in the news, they think other countries are not giving aid, and then they think that america is the sole savior of the world, and that europe is only sitting on its butt (althought it is completely false, but news of Denmark sending aid to Uganda rarely makes the new).

Well yeah, its Amerocentrism. Most people down here view what happens in the United States and what the US does as the most important things in the world, and everyone else sucks. Pain in the ass really.

Ohio high school has 64 pregnant students

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20050902/ap_on_he_me/teen_pregnancies

I think it's a wonderful combination of the disregard of condoms and the failure of abstinance teachings. Yay for today's youth!!!

They made some stupid decision that landed them in the mess they are in so yes, they are stupid not to follow what their school has taught them. What is wrong with having an absoloute opnion on something like this. Its not that hard to realize since the consequences of it are so serious(Aids, STD's, or even a kid or 2) even though the risks are so small with birth control. The best risk is no riskwinkx.gif.

The high school I used to go told us to use condoms, they have gave them to us free. Know what? I don't think I ever saw or heard about a pregnant girl.

Yes of course! Just like we don't need the police since we tell people not to commit crimes... Few people will follow abstinance. Especially since we only "strongly suggest" it, we don't, and can't, enforce it. Did everyone use security belts before they became obligatory? No. Did people stop taking cars while drunk when before laws were made to prevent it? No. Abstinance is similar, but only 10 times worse, since sex is amongst the 3 most basic activities man can do. Abstinance will remain a simple suggestion unless we make sex illegal, and unless we start making police assaults in bedrooms, people won't really bother about it. Since they won't have any condom or any kind of protection watsoever when they'll start "not bothering", what do you think will happen? They'll either have a few unwanted babies, or, if unlucky enough, they'll catch nasty things. I'm awaiting an answer in the likes of "they were stupid, so they deserved it!!1" roll%20eyes%20%28sarcastic%29.gif

Are infants having sex in Africa?

[QUOTE=PetheGreat] The best risk is no risk

Exactly.

Unless they have triple thick condoms then I aint taking the chance. Lots of girls my age are opening their legs for anyone short of their goldfish, so who knows whats in that hole.

In the real world outside bible class, people enjoy sex. You can't just tell them to stop. All you can really do is teach them about safe sex and make sure they have access to condoms.
