Is this the same as the "Northern Alliance" we supported at the beginning of the war. Are we turning on them or is it a different group?

Northern alliance was in Afghanistan if I remember right... But then again, this was a group, I believe that was supported by the US for it's actions against Saddam.
The Kurdish PKK are the Kurds living in Northern Iraq along Iraq-Turkey border. They have been making raids across the border into Turkey killing Turkish civilins, troops, and Police.
Turkey has so far shown great restraint and has not crossd the border after the PKK. The US has promised to deal with the PKK to try and get them to back off.
The Northern Alliance is IIRC about 700miles away in Afghnistan and is now the ruling Goverment.
The PKK have always been terrorist. US SF have worked with a number of Kurdish groups prior to and immediately during the invasion so its likely that at some point US and PKK forces cooperated against the common enemy, Iraq. Now that thats done with, PKK is making themselves an adversary of themselves by routinely attacking a fair weather US ally. gonna get interesting up there.
Yeah, the PKK have never been even neutral.
