I believe that you should never turn to violence unless in a situation where you have no other choice. I can't imagine how you could harm someone without a motive. Examples: - Being a police officer or military personnel - Helping someone in need - Defending yourself I also don't see why these people pull out their flags and banners and act like morons apposing the war/troops. I honestly think that should be against the law. If you can't stand behind our troops, stand in front. Because that's the closest you'll ever get to freedom.

JohnJ, I totally agree. They're not helping freedom or our country with all the protests. "We want our soldiers home!" They shout at us. Yeah, and if you keep it up, they'll come back in body bags. You'd think something like "Oh, but staying over there would mean more people dying!". Wrong. We need to finish off this threat now or there's going to be a lot more people dead. Somebody will move in and overthrow Iraq, and more, frequent attacks will happen on American soil. We're going to be getting a lot more 9/11's happening. Of course, they're oblivious to that, and then complain it's Bush's fault when those idiots in Congress force him out, even if he had no choice. Either way, Bush's reputation is doomed.

Yes, lets forbid people to voice their opinions because you disagree with them. That'd be a good idea.

Either way, back to the topic.

I have a very large advantage when it comes to physical fights; I'm big, and I can look mean as fuck. That's why most of the people avoid direct confrontation with me. The last time someone didn't was about 4 years ago. I've gotten in to numerous situations which could very easily have resulted in violence since, but due to my size (and probably the fact that I keep my head cool) I've avoided that.

I'm also the type that will break up fights in clubs and such. Mostly a very pissed off look will do the trick. It seems to have worked for the past couple of years, anyway.

yeah lol people get to drunk and try to fight and all you got to do is just look like you're going to kill them and they back off.

I also don't see why these people pull out their flags and banners and act like morons apposing the war/troops. I honestly think that should be against the law. If you can't stand behind our troops, stand in front. Because that's the closest you'll ever get to freedom.

JohnJ, just because they pull out their flags and banners and oppose the war doesn't mean they aren't supporting the troops it's showing their love for their families and how they miss them. if you make it against the law to do that you violate the first amendment of the constitution. (freedom of speech press and expression) and we got our freedom over 200 years ago i don't think anyone is going to take it now.

Of course, they're oblivious to that, and then complain it's Bush's fault when those idiots in Congress force him out, even if he had no choice. Either way, Bush's reputation is doomed.

of course they want the troops home if your spouse was gone for almost 7 years i bet you'd be saying "bring them home" too and just because they are saying bring them home doesn't mean they'll come home in body bags and yes bringing them home would mean less of our people dying, it goes without saying but YOU CAN NEVER STOP TERRORISM! it's an ongoing thing, and we are adding fuel to the fire by killing them. i don't see how some random terrorist group, lets make one up...why not al shabam...they get control of iraq then the U.N is forced to act because of the take over and the attacks that would eventually happen after they had the funds to get the weapons. it's a never ending process. bush's reputation was screwed when he declared "war on terror" he did it himself. i've been against the war the whole time but i still support the troops themselves although i think their commander (bush) is an idiot.

yeah i didn't even throw a fist when that dude at my school was spitting in my face yelling at me i just stared at him and smiled and he got madder and walked away.

Piet;3818899What is your approach to violence?

In any endeavour, although the possibility of violence is the basis for most interactions, actual physical violence is almost always a waste; it turns a great many hands against you and carries an inherent risk. If you lose the other person might go home, or they might hang around to smash your nose into the rest of your skull and leave you a drooling vegetable pissing your life away into the gutter. Simply put: You should fight when it benefits you and stop when it doesn't. If you can get to your goals without fighting then it is preferable to do so, there is very little benefit in running the risk involved in fighting if you don't have to do it.

Since most fights can be avoided it is often difficult to justify fighting as anything other than the consequence of stupidity, but the ones that you really can't avoid you fight to win. Real fights don't have any room for honor, assume they're going to kill you and take everything from there, if you don't you might not get the chance to walk away from it.

(I’m going to get a lot of fucking Red rep form adults and people who have never seen daylight) Okay I like to fight, I like violence. My farther was a street fighter as a kid he has always told me not too take shit from anyone, I’m afraid you cant judge me or my family until you fully understand why people fight. Fighting is to prove that you have won the argument that you have beaten your opponent in the ground and when my Dad was a working class kid from Liverpool in the 50’s you had to fight, for almost survival in a way, not many southerner people believe it but the North was in ruins during 1945 on wards. He and his gang would look after his street the police wouldn’t do anything, they still don’t they would fight revile gangs if it wasn’t for joining the army at 16, my dad would be in prison by now defiantly. But anyway such places like Britain; we are a country of fighters, Celtics, Vikings, Normans, Romans, Barbarians, German tribes we are just a nation of fighters, Its past down generations. With a country where the police are bent and you can get arrested for defending your own life from an army of yobs that are destroying your home. Its not nice, you want to take action, not let the police take a statement. People talk about being Civilised but really where still animals. We feel hate against each other and if we cant get our own way we resort to violence. No I’m not a yob myself I don’t go around drinking on park walls and causing trouble, I use my violence for defence. I just don’t take abuse and people being aggressive towards me, Violence may not solve everything but when a group of 15 teenagers think they are ‘Hard’ and try to start on you, what can you do? Get the shit kicked out of you? Or fight back at them? People on here thing your always lying and being violent is wrong, but people the world is not Filefront. You cant hide behind a computer screen and call them a Idiot for believing that you shouldn’t take crap from anyway aggressive towards you. Want to give me Red rep? Please leave your name! tell we why! I’m I a ‘Idiot’ for expressing my opinion? Or ‘Pathetic’ because I stand up for myself when in the streets. Have a nice day!

of course if you smile at them they tend to leave cause they see that they really can't bother you in anyway but if they do throw that first swing lay into them like the ice age squirrel laid into those piranhas for taking his acorn lol.
