I just realized something while reading the Constitution......... Section 3 of Article 4 states.........
New States may be admitted by the Congress into this Union; but no new State shall be formed or erected within the jurisdiction of any other State; nor any State be formed by the junction of sny two States, nor parts of States, without the Consent of the Legislatures of the States concerned as well as of the Congress.
When Virginia seceeded from the Union, a few counties did not agree and seperated from the state. The Union later admitted these counties as West Virginia, without the consent of Virginia, therefore, making West Virginia unconsistutional.
Yay! Looks like Virginia will have more trees to cut down and build office parks out of!
Virginia succeeded from the Union, but in a sense, the people of West Virginia did not, thus the people of West Virginia left Virginia, and joined the Union. Since Virginia was not part of the union, it really could not vote against it.
therefore, making West Virginia unconsistutional.
Who cares?
Who deleted my post????
Stealth3Who deleted my post????
Dont worry about it, it was deleted for a reason. it didnt add any content to the discussion, so it was deleted(just like the one i'm responding to). moving on...
I think if West Virginia was really unconstitutional it would have been brought up by now.
wow so we are really the 49 states of America.
But I dont think anyone would want to bring that up now it would be too much of a hassle. Each state is doing well and we already hav 50 stars on all of the flags we would have to change it if they brought this up.
Gah, 1 hour too late.
I had this tabbed open for ages, and was coming around to deleting it, and it was already gone!
Please make sure that your comments are relevant to the topic, and that they actually add something to the discussion please.
we need to conquer West Virginia.
