I was wondering what country you guys think has the best military? I always thought that the U.S. had the best, but I could be wrong. I havent really looked into other countries that much.

Indeed, you can't really ask that without defining what you mean with "best" and expect a good answer, a lot of people will say their own country if they can decide the definition on their own. Or at least I would.

Well even though this has been discussed thousands of times before, I have to go with Israel.

One thing is for sure, and I will probably get slaughterd for this; but the US Armed Forces are no way near the best military force on earth. I know you want to believe it is. But put your patriotism off side just for onces and look at it with wide spreed eyes.

The best army is the army that has never to be used :).

Yea sorry about the misconception. The best in terms of size and strength. The one that could defeat any other military in the world.

The US military. Might not be the best trained, but we make up for that with sheer military might. No other country comes close to our capabilities.

China or the US, the latter considering they are the only ones with good enough long-distance logistics. Russia could be pretty good measured in those terms too despite its problems, but neither they are as capable of invading a random country anywhere on the planet.

My opinion is that there is no military in the world that could defeat any other military though. Much depends on where the war would be fought, not even the US could be expected to ship themselves to China or Russia and just conquer them. Much depends on the people too, if they support their government and military it will be many times harder to invade a country than if they don't.

I'd have to say the US, their infantry training might be inferior to that of other countries, but their techonological advantage will decimate any other fighting force in conventional warfare. I think this is without doubt..

Now where is Nesh reanimator at..

Just becasue an army has a techonological advantage doesn't mean that they are inmortal or un-beatable. We have seen many times how techonological armys has been beaten. Just look at Vietnam. I know that many of you Americans don't see it as a loss, however, you didn't achive your goals. Which more or less, makes it a loss. Anyhow, the Americans was very techonological superior then what the Vietnames were.

As it is today, I don't think that any military can beat anothet military without lose them selfs. Sure, one country could use nuclear weapons of mass destruction, but that would most definetly get reteliated, which would mean that both countries would be in a pile of ruins, with no winners.

Just face it boys, militarys doesn't win wars anymore.

PS: Also, you probably thinking, well not that many countries have nuclear weapons. But you are wrong, the enemy to one country, is another country's friend, which just might have nuclear weapons.
