Whether global warming is man-made or not is not the issue here, and we've debated the topic enough for one year.

While sea level rises may be more dramatic, I believe the real crunch point of global warming is food production. Water shortages are already constricting agriculture in the developing world, and more frequent droughts lead to famines. Even in the EU.

The above video is just an example of a longer chain of possible events. Of those villagers whose crops were destroyed by drought, how many will travel to find better fortunes in Italy, Germany, France or Britain. How much food aid can the Romanian government afford to provide, given now that its prime income has been hit so hard? And so how much will the US and EU provide to prevent the Romanians from starving, or rioting.

If this were to happen in Mexico, how many more poor Mexicans would try to make it into the US?

For agriculturally-dependent nations, as most of the developing world is, for the average person, their life depends on the harvest. If that fails they will be more likely to travel elsewhere to survive - a basic human driving factor.

But now the world is structured differently, and can we find an answer?

The video doesn't work for me. But anyway, I think it's strange that water-shortages are really a problem considering how much drinking-water could potentially be won from the oceans. But then again the energy spend in that process could lead to further environmental problems.

This is, of course, if you believe all of the global warming crap. :) (Of course, that's my opinion.)

Why exactly don't you believe it? To me it seems global warming has been covered up more than not...

I have my reasons, but I don't want to start a huge debate. Yet, anyway. :p

Uh, buddy...global warming is a fact. The debate is about whether or not it's caused by man.

I guess you didn't notice the ice caps melting...

I have my opinion, I'm sticking by it. Accept it or leave.

Anyway, why the heck did I even enter this thread...? :lookaround:

Okay, I just don't understand why people post opinions without explaining first...

But I suppose you're right, don't want to turn this into a pointless debate that goes nowhere...

You might very well think that
