The way I see it is similar to what Mushroom said. A terrorist is anyone who will go to any measure to do something big enough to get his point across to large numbers and important people.

@ cataphract, if you a problem with a moderator's decisions, please contact him in private. don't create posts/threads with the pupose of venting your frustration about it. solve it in private.

@ cataphract, if you a problem with a moderator's decisions, please contact him in private. don't create posts/threads with the pupose of venting your frustration about it. solve it in private. You should take your own advice. Furthermore, I didn't create a separate topic about it, unlike last time. I'm only talking about it here because I feel that I have to. The problem is that, in my experience, you can't "solve" anything in private: the moderators never seem to want to fix a situation, and only want to defend a previous decision (regardless of whether it was right or wrong). If you say things in public sometimes, such as now, moderators must consider whether their actions were right, or else face unpopular sentiment.

You've gotta admit Cat's got a point. Try to keep the whole thing quiet, and you just get told to shut up and not question a moderator's decision. Get a ton of people to notice, however, and you're suddenly forced to be just.

When in doubt refer to Websters New World Dictionary. terrorism-the use of force or threats to intimideate, etc., esp. as a political policy. Meaning a terrorIST would be a person who uses force or threats to intimidate...........

that is why we have a 'chain of command'. if you feel wrongly treated by a moderator, contact him in private and talk it over. if you still feel unjustly treated, contact a super moderator in private. these are really simple guidelines and i'm surprised at how often i have to explain them to members. yapping about in the forums about how badly you've been treated and especially the poining of fingers will get you absolutely nowhere. moderators don't mind explaining their actions if you ask them politely; either grab then on MSN (or such) or write a PM and talk it over. when you instead begin shouting at them, why should they be nice to you? trying to gain 'public support' by ranting about it and pointing fingers is just...low. you (the individual member) sre not the centre of the world and your (the individual member's) post/thread is not the most important thing ever written. you don't have to make it into an issue, because the staff knows very well when something is an issue and when it is just the rantings of a member who got stepped on his toes.

terrorism-the use of force or threats to intimideate, etc., esp. as a political policy. I think the best place to look is an encyclopedia, not a dictionary. The dictionary's definition (here) is too vague. And I could find several definitions that define a terrorist as more of a revolutionary who plots attacks on civilians in order to overthrow an established order or government. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Terrorist Notice how the above article does not include Saddam Hussein as a "terrorist," even though it includes a list of other notable modern terrorists.

That's because Saddam Hussein was not a terrorist. Sure, he's killed people. But where are the WMD's, George? Where?

that is why we have a 'chain of command' What is the chain of command? I've never seen it posted anywhere, and I've checked the FAQ. If there is a chain of command, it is not clearly delineated. Until you tell me who your superior is, I have no recourse now, do I? trying to gain 'public support' by ranting about it and pointing fingers is just...low. you (the individual member) sre not the centre of the world and your (the individual member's) post/thread is not the most important thing ever written. you don't have to make it into an issue, because the staff knows very well when something is an issue and when it is just the rantings of a member who got stepped on his toes. Hmm, let's see, words in your post that denote your attitude toward me: "yapping," "shouting," "ranting," I don't think this is what I've been doing. Also, I know that what I have to say is not always the most important. You think I'm full of myself? You're wrong. But I'd like it if everything I had to say that was respectful is respected in turn. When a moderator moves a perfectly good topic to "Test/Spamming Forum," it makes me feel "low," as you say. And then I try to PM people, and most of the time get no response or the equivalent of "tough luck, deal with it." I don't think anyone wants to post a serious topic only to have it tossed into Test/Spamming on a whim. Furthermore, I wonder why the topic "Zoophilia" hasn't been moved to Test/Spamming. Why hasn't it? What about having sex with animals could possibly be more important than my topic about a hypothetical moral dilemma?
