Diplomacy is best, trying to go for an agreement with them and such. Too bad this option is not included in the poll. Besides, attacking NK would be too dangerous and costly.

Cut all trading with them (or maybe that's already been done?). I do not think that NK should be invaded, unless they attack first ofcourse. Thier army are just too big, NK is fully capable of defending itself.

Talking would be the best. However i dont think there is much thats going to be achieved, North Korea tends to.. be a tad childish. Even tho the US is not taking any stepts against them, out of nowhere they scream "OMFG WTF, WE HAVE A RIGHT TO DEFEND AND WE WILL CAPITALIST PIGS!" like in the past. Kim has to die before NK is going anywhere good, i doubt he will just agree to stop arming himself to the teeth while starving his people by just talking.. Its a mess, and maybe it needs to be stopped in a messy way..

The death of Kim will probably make things easier.. This guy is very unstable. Attacking the whole country won't help, especially if they have real nukes. A nuke on Seoul or Tokyo would be one of the history's saddest event I guess. A conventional war would also be extremely difficult. The terrain is montainous and the North Koreans prepared it for war by building underground bunkers since the Korean War ended.

Perhaps China and Russia are the key, these two countries can make the North Koreans change idea much more easily than the US can. Especially since NK's northern borders are not as outrageously defended as the one with SK. China is also NK's main trade partner, and they are supposedly both communist (i'd say that neither of them are communists but anyways..). Furthermore, it would be almost impossible to attack NK unless SK agrees. South Korea does not want to lose half its population and they do not want to be tied to NK's poor economy (look at what happened when both Germanies united, SK + NK would be 20 times worse). If NATO's troops can't use SK as a staging ground for an attack then it would be almost impossible to invade.

Diplomacy is best, wait for Kim to croak. If anyone attacks NK, WWIII will be the result, and of course China will get into like last time. "Beware of sleeping dragons."

Exactly. SK wants anything but war--they want peaceful reunification. And yeah, I don't think any nation is truly communist right now.
