What do you mean? religiously? political? militaristic?
Religiously: Has to be one of the 3 prophets Mohamed, Jesus, or Moses. but since im muslim i think mohamed lol.
Politically: i dont know maybe George W. Bush.
Militaristic: Hitler, or Alexander the Great Khalid Ibn Al-Walid. (no one knows who the last one is)
tough question. i would say that the greatest leader could be hitler because he mobilized his entire nation and was a national hero. he accomplished something that few leaders ever have. ***NOTE: I AM NOT SAYING THAT I CONDONE HIS ACTIONS - QUITE THE OPPOSITE. I AM MERELY COMMENTING ON HIS LEADERSHIP ABILITY***
Religious: Jesus. Political: Mao Tse-tung. Military: Genghis Khan. Since religion transcends political and military aspects of human history, the greatest religious leader would have to be the greatest leader in general. Hence, Jesus.
I would say politically and militarily, George W. Bush is the greatest leader of all time. ;) No, I would say religiously Jesus is the greatest leader. Politically, I would have to go with like Cata said, Abraham Lincoln. He abolished one of the worst parts of human history. Military wise, I am not sure, I will have to think about that. I do like Alexander the Great though.
I did change my political leader from Abraham Lincoln to Mao Tse-Tung...I forgot to think internationally.
Militaristic wise, i would have to go Rommel or Alexander the Great.
Politically I would choose Hitler, he was able to unite the coutry and had endless ambition. He spread his ambition out to his followers and was actually able accomplish hiw will, others leaders have sacrificed their ambition to stayin power, Hitler didnt need to.
Personally Hitler was one of the world's best leaders. Not due to his actions but due to his leadership qualities. He united Germany, he spread a universal idea through the country, although not a good idea, he brought Germany back to it's feet after an era where it's economic structure he fallen apart. Hitler was also a good military leader due the fact he formed a large army and it took several forces to quash his power.
Militarily and politically, I will say Napoleon Bonaparte he was a military genius and was able to bring together the French people after the Reign of Terror and brought France back as a world power after the massive debt of the previous monarchy. Napoleon also spread throughout Europe the notion of a republic and nationalism, which would eventually lead to the creation of Germany and Italy [though long after Napoleon's death]. If I am to choose someone as the greatest religious leader, I will say Abraham, the patriarch of three faiths.
Hitler was rather stupid in military matters, whenever he took command himself things went from bad to worse (not my opinion but something I read in the biography of Speer, one of the view persons whom Hitler trusted). The perhaps best German general, Rommel, even disobeyed some of Hitler's direct orders. And he wasn't the only person who did this (source; Irving:Rommel). Maybe Nazigermany won some amazing victories and had poerful weapons, but it wasn't Hitler who thought about tactics or designed tanks (well, actually, he sometimes "dreamed" about designing monstertanks and things like this, but those ideas were the product of an insane mind and had no value at all). He was a terrible economic leader, he ruined German economy in a short time, read about it in historybooks if you don't believe it :) German economy was getting stronger in 1933 and some following years, but this was achieved by his predecessors.
About some leadership qualities you are right though. He knew a lot about rethorics and propaganda, and he seemed to have some trait of character that made people followim him into death.
