Here's a little notion which the jehovah's witnesses put forward to me, this'll be interesting for all you scriptual literalists to chew over, and possibly scriptual symbolist too: In the bible, is it said that the Lord sent Satan to tempt Jesus as a test, now, in this temptation of Jesus Satan offered Jesus all of the world's governments, correct? So, assuming that was correct, how is possible that Satan could offer Jesus all the world's governments if Satan didn't own all the world's government himself? Interesting, no?

Actually, at the time, Saten did own the world. He was called "the prince of the power of the air." Now that doesn't mean he could do anything he wanted, but he was very powerful. However, when Jesus was resurected he took from saten the keys to death.

see?

Literally or symbolicly?

AkeateLiterally or symbolicly?

Well I'm pretty sure it's not a literal key. So symbolically I guess.

So couldn't you then argue that with Jesus' final death he no longer had ownership of the 'Keys of Death'? And these 'Keys of Death', what power did they give Satan over the mortal world, and how?

Well I'm not 100% sure to be honest. I'll attempt an explination though.

Before Jesus died on the cross, the only way to get to heaven was to preform sacrifices of lambs continually. Anyone who did not do that went to hell. That means a LOT of people went to hell. That, I believe, is the power that Saten had over the world, the power to bring anyone that wasn't a Jew to hell. Now once Jesus died and rose again he paid the price for everyones sins, so that not just Jews could go to heaven, but all men. That I believe was the power that Jesus took from saten. I hope that made sense.

So couldn't you then argue that with Jesus' final death he no longer had ownership of the 'Keys of Death'?

I'm not sure what you mean. :/

Are you sure about that? I'm very sceptical of that and I'm an atheist XP And I meant that when Jesus died, he no longer had the 'Keys of Death' becuase of the fact that he did evently die, couldn't you then say that becuase Jesus died he didn't have the Keys and that Satan would posses them.

Well actually I'm not 100% sure, that's my best guess...I'm not a Bible scholar. ;) :D

And it's when Jesus died and rose again that he took the keys. he only died once.

Being nailed to a cross doesn't count as dying?
