I am the worst about this. I manage to contain myself while on here, but if you were to talk to me on the street it would be a whole 'nother story. So, why do we incessantly making fun of the French? Is it because we (The Americans) spawned from the British, who just naturally don't like the French? Do the French really suck as bad as we make them out to? Example, there is the joke of an antique French rifle from WWI. When the guy was selling it he said that it was still in pristine condition, stating that it had never been fired and was only dropped twice. Now I'm sure that there was at least one Frenchman out there that was able to fight. But, in WWI the only thing that stopped Germany from taking Paris was the British Expeditionary Force sent in that slowed them up just enough for taxis to ferry the French out to the battle field. And in WWII France's war with Germany was basically a three-week retreat to Paris. So, to we unjustly make fun of the French, or do they deserve it?

People like to pick on someone they see as a weakling. Given France's performance in the two world wars (the only ones anyone seems to care about), it seems many Americans view France as a country worthy of their derision.

Why am I using big words all of a sudden? :lookaround:

The French entured the American Revolution 226 years ago, back when they were a world power. Back then they still had balls, despite the flashy white uniforms. And yes I thank them for that, but we have more than made up for that by saving their asses from the Germans twice.

France didnt get in to the American Revolution right away. They were afraid of the British and waited untill we Americans won sone big battles.

That is why it says 226 and not 229. The Fench waited until it looked like we might actually win. Had they entered earlier and we had lost they would have got stuck fighting a war they could not win.
