I know many people on this board have explained their reasons for hating Michael Moore, but since the search function is bust, I'll have to ask again in this thread.

Note that I have not watched any of his films and am entirely neutral on the subject. Are his films really one-sided or misleading in any way?

Difficult to say as it's difficult to find out with certainity wether all the claims against Moore are true or simply made up by those who don't like him.

His movies look like propaganda to me, but they draw some attention to real problems and they are entertaining, so I just consider them as more of a pointer towards a problem instead of a documentation with valid information.

There is documentary called Manufacturing Dissent: Uncovering Michael Moore made by two Canadians where they investigate the stuff about Michael Moore by interviewing friends, colleague's, and "victims" of Michael Moore. Apparantly Michael changes, twists and manipulates or even leaves out certain amounts of information to make it all look really bad and evil, if you know what i mean. A good example would be his birth town Flint where he only showed old buildings that where supposed to demolished and replaced by a new shopping mall so you would get the idea that Flint is a place you dont want to live. He ofcourse left out the part the part that these buildings where supposed to be demolished. There are many more examples of Michael Moore changing certain on purpose.

Having watched unedited segments of Moore's work, it is easy to see where the hate stems from. He splices and edits footage for his own gain. Go out and rent a DVD called "Farenhype 9/11"; it shows a lot of Moore's editing in Fahrenheit 9/11 and how much he actually spliced out. There's also a website out there showing the inaccuracies of his other known work at the time, Bowling for Columbine. He's an extremely manipulative "documenterer".

He's a douche.

And what ^^ they said.

The sad part is, most of the Hollywood liberal elite take his word as pure fact

Regardless of Michael Moore's inconsistencies and unfair and deliberate manipulations, his hometown of Flint Michigan is a shithole.

Fair point, but then again most of Michigan is at this point.

But yes, Moore is a completely corrupt director. He is not a documenter and his films are not documentaries.

It's propaganda, so the normal everyday idiot can't tell. Then when we point out that it is, they're already brainwashed and say we're conspiracy theorists.

Sorry, are you talking about Moore's films or mainstream American news channels?
