Chemix2;3946743It's not dandy, but it's better than it was, chaos is better than evil order.
I don't know about that. How many people were killed during Hussein's reign?
I didn't make it!
I'd rather hear about this on the news instead of Brad and Angelina's baby.

270,000 Iraqis, but it's more about how they were killed than the fact that they died, they were tortured to death in various ways, often in front of family forced to watch, who would then suffer similar fates.
And how many have died since the 'liberation' of Iraq from the terrible dictator?

Shouldnt the number be a lot more than 270.000 then, if their family died like that too? ;)
I'll ask you again, how many people have to die by being turned into red mist due to an explosion, or bleed to death in the street in order for the supposed torture to be the lesser evil?
Good question, Raptor. What would the people that live in Iraq prefer, do you all think? Having to keep their heads or their family members heads down, because there was a chance that they might be abducted, tortured and killed, or having to keep their heads down, their children inside and their non-existent bomb shelters open because there is a nigh certainty that one of their family, or even several of them will be raped, shot, stabbed, shrapnelled or 'turned into red mist'?
I'm way cooler than n0e (who isn't though?)

Hey, people are often more interested in other people's lives more than their own. Sad fact in society. When people can't gossip about those surrounding them, they oggle at celebrities.
Nice comment though. =p
And Reborn?! I have never seen you in the Pub before!
I am rarely drawn to discussion. But keep it on topic.
Obviously Hussein's deal was pure evil, and something had to be done. But what was done was pretty half-hearted in the direction of securing the lives of the inhabitants of Iraq, as opposed to the oil, or whatever it was that they're saying the USA wanted. I know it sounds bad, but the truth is that the old regime was probably better for the people of Iraq than this new chaos that's been ushered in. Chaos to this degree is not better than evil order, where it counts.
I agree, good or bad intentions are pretty much irrelevant when the situation is worse than it was, they fucked up.
I'd rather be red mist than fed into a meat grinder, I'd rather be randomly shot than have by feet whipped till they are piles of flesh and I die from blood loss or infect, I'd rather die a quick random death than face a sure and forewarned death that is slow and painful.
The number totals at 270,000 including the family members.
Saddam was also funding attacks on Israel, our ally, so that being done away was good, until HAMAS took power in Palestine...
