What do people think about this? Ill write something up tomorrow. I bought this up because I got pissed after losing such a debate to two girls. Why? The judge was a female. Im gonna tell you all what load of crap they bought up in the debate.

Ummm, okay...? This is one reason why they should be allowed in the armed forces, they are probably more likely to remain cool and collective.

I dont see anything wrong with the ERA or wemon in the armed forces but it is very unlikely that laws will be passed allowing them to be drafted. Some men oppose, well maybe not the ones in the armed forces :naughty:, and I am sure many women will not oppose unforced joining to the military. So basically I think: Women joining the armed forces-Probably going to happen Drafting of women-Very very unlikely

If a woman insists on joining the military voluntarily, I'd say let her.

But as far as Drafting goes, I'd say that it wont happen. Too much opposition of draft for men only to even have an earshot chance of it being implemented Co-Ed.

Women are just as capable as men when it comes to doing these kind of operations. I wouldn't put a women in a combat situation unless she wanted to though.

If she wants to die for her country, that's her problem. It's her life, I don't care.

No wonder, they dont hit anything.

Anyway so they were affirmative at "there should be more women peacekeepers", and I was negative. Basically, they had a few points with no proof or examples.

1. There should be more women peacekeepers beacuse they dont do bad things like men.

2. There should be women peacekeepers because when they meet a raped women, they know how to help her out.

3. We should fire half the men peacekeepers and hire women so we keep the balance.

Ok now wtf were they thinking. I asked for example why women are better peacekeepers then men. They tell me, because they are.

I countered their #1 point by proving that women do bad things too. Proof was the prisoner abuse in Iraq where many abusers were women.

For their #2 I said that peacekeepers is not only about helping raped women, and how much different does it make to the raped women if its a female or a male thats helping her? Since their both strangers. And will they even talk about the rape in the first place since their embarrassed.

3. We should fire half the men peacekeepers and hire women so we keep the balance.

Why would we waste our money to hire women that probably wont join in the first place. There are less then 10% women in the US military, and they are allowed to join freely. So why fire veterans to waste money training novice females to hold a gun?

Then I told them the fact that in some Middle East country, its against their culture and believes to allow women to fight. So by doing that the affirmative wants, then we violate, and disrespect their believes leading to a bigger problem.

Then I bought the fact that most females are both mentaly and physically weaker when it comes to pulling the trigger and blow somebody's brains out, which is what you do if you join.

I also told them that most women currently in the military are not even on the front lines.

Again, they couldnt give me an answer how things will improve if we have a "balance", yet I gave them answers how things will probably get worst.

When it was their turn, they just said I'm sexit, and that her mother is stronger then any man.

I told them something like "So what, what does this have to do with anything?"

Yet, I lost because the Judge was a female.

BTW: Like JP said, I dont really care either, but in a debate you have to debate even if its against your will.
