Of curse there is vid librarys, But it would take a long time if you wanted to find a good video with good information, Say you wanted to find a video on WW1 it would take a long time changing and looking through 10 videos . Whereas you could do that much quicker on the internet
1) Eeese 2) Speed
FireThroneOf curse there vid librarys, But can u walk in an watch 10 at the same time? iit would take you much less on the internt.
1) Eeese 2) Speed
I can't watch 10 videos at the same time no matter what resource I'm using.
But the argument here isn't if libraries are better than the internet, is it? :P
In some ways we'd be better off without it, but in other ways we do kind of need it. It's possible for anything and everything to be abused if it's not used properly, whether it's being on the internet too much, or not using it correctly. Without it we wouldn't be able to communicate quickly (Yeah, we have phones, but e-mail is more versatile), and it'd be harder to aquire and distribute information. Without it we'd all probably be outside doing something constructive. :p
I I I would cry... I would have nothing to do....
FireThrone-LastWarriorWhat would the world be like if we did not have internet?
Short answer: Read history books. They contain a good deal of info' on how life in the ancient times before the IT revolution:D (such a smart-ass I am sometimes, such a smart-ass).
But I suppose you mean "what if Magica de Spell caused the Internet to vanish right now" or something?
Corporations and private people would lose a good deal of money, to say the least, and have their lives turned upside-down. Pretty much everything would be set back by a good deal.
Good sides: No illegal downloading of games, harder spreading of child porn, kids being out in the sun more:).
How ironic you gave a simple answer.
And then gave the right one afterwards :D
But yea i didnt see that side, the world would be a better place if you think about it. Although id rather having the internet anyway:)
If the internet stops:Civilization, as we know it, will end.
It has a lot of potential, even if it is being squandered on spam and AOLspeak and such at the moment, so I'd say it's a bad thing.
I'd probably be a little bummed out about not being able to talk to some cool people I've gotten to know anymore, and start reading all day again.

If it was never created we would never "miss" it. However without the internet communtication would be a lot slower, the internet has made knowledge (be it reliable or not ;) ) much more accesable and made it a lot easier to share ideas, plans, thoughts etc. which is both a very intresting and large form of entertainment/private social intereaction and business.
It does have it's flaws yes and it also can be abused but the pro's of this direct global contact outweight the con's by far.
