I went to a small private school...Lost connections with all the people I went to school with.

Well, found a few of them.

One of the guys, totally geek...Is now living in England and is Engaged! I don't know how he got there, but wow. He never seemed like he was going to be able to leave the area and had the gall to go.

The other, a girl, is studying to work at JPL (Jet Propulsion Labratory)...All I remember is her being into anime and really good at drawing, and pretty shy.

'Nother guy was riding BMX bikes professionally.

All I got on them, but it really shocks me to know how much they have/are accomplishing.

Makes me feel pretty upset, considering here I am, sitting at my computer, wanting to do bigger and better things rather than working a 9-5. Yeah, my job may be considered "worthwhile" by some, but it doesn't have the same impact on me. My dream is to do something different, something unique. To travel, to be wealthy, and to have a palace of concubines.......Well, maybe not a palace, but a large house of them.

I think I'm going to get my life in order and get some priorities straight. I just had a birthday (20), and know that now is the chance to accomplish something before the chances run out.

Anybody have these feelings? Normally I wouldn't even post this since I enjoy useless drivell as posts, but it struck me pretty hard to see what a waste my last 4-6 years have been when there had been chances for me to get a foothold into something great.

Don't know if you fellows that love to Pub would consider this worthy, but thought that knowledgeable insight might be nice.

Crazy isn't, Aeg?

I recently joined Facebook because a few of my friends signed up and I was getting these emails requesting that I joined. These are people I haven't seen in ages so I decided to register to keep in touch and/or catch up.

I was shocked to find out that almost everyone I went to school with (starting with grade school) was on Facebook. Not only that, I was shocked that a lot of them are engaged, have kids, and all that other stuff.

I even found that my grade 8 class photo was uploaded and I was tagged in it. Grade 8! Thats like 12 years ago! Crazy. It kind of creeped me out too just because so many people I know/knew are using that site.

Anyway, yeah, I know what you mean.

Everybody's on facebook. It's a glorious alternative to myspace and it's spammy childishness. Anyways, giz/aeg...it's time to exchange PM's and be facebook friends. =p

I'd say the key is education and knowing what you want. You don't even need giant amounts of talent to study a subject that is considered difficult, you just need the will to do it. Some connections usually also help a lot.

Oh I get those feelings, and can relate to you directly there. :uhm: I've always had the dream of flying, and wanted to be an F/A18 Pilot for the RAAF. Yet, the way my marks went for the mathematics side of things in High School that will likely never happen. I'd love a career in art and animation but I feel I just wouldn't do something big, or as you described it.. unique.

It's great to have dreams, just not to be a dreamer. ;)

You'll get there mate, recognising what you need to do and what you want is the first thing. Now just to find out how to do it. Life isn't short. It's the longest thing we do, but the chances in it don't wait around, grab every single one you can.

Don't have delusions of granduer, impossible dreams are doomed to fail. just wait awhile and you'll probably get a better job, and find the one you were made for. have 2 kids, and with two jobs supporting, you'll be able to buy a bigger house
