just finished watching the debate and wow Palin did great. alot better then i thought she would do. i really hope this shuts up the media about her. she did great on the foreign policy and like many said right after the debate "she spoke to the people cuz she is a normal person like you and me." great job Sarah im sure this will shut that jerkoff olbermann up.
so who did you think won this one.
P.S. to the guy who said "i cant wait to see Biden tear her a new one." i think you spoke to soon.
I wouldn't consider it an upset, more of a revitalization. She didn't necessarily trump Biden to be honest unless you're supporting the McCain ticket, then of course everything sounded melodious to your ears, but with the exception of him running too long on two of his questions, he was doing well too. What there is is that compared to her last two interviews, she was much more solid, strong, and articulated her answers much more clearly.
She needed to that because quite honestly, even outside of the "evil" media, some people from within the Republican circles were casting doubt on her as well after how she stumbled around on questions in her interviews. Whether what she did would appease them I'm not sure, but she came in much more confident and articulate knowing what was at stake.
Still, both were saying what their respective running mate would say, not so much what they'll do, which is why Palin sounded so good with foreign policy because she was pretty much saying what the McCain ticket supports, not so much of what she does. It's good they didn't ask her specifically about certain issues or her qualifications like they did in the interviews.
Don't expect the media to "shut up" about her though. Say what you want, but the reactions folk are giving about her are helping their ratings so they'll continue to run it so as long as people are getting emotional over her. That's boosting ratings.
Regardless, I can say what ever, but cast doubt on her and you are an evil agent of Obama and the leftist media. Personally I like some of McCain's ideals (and I was hoping he'd beat out the others in the primaries) but I really wasn't as crazy about her like a lot of the Republican base was. She's charismatic and able to woo people just like Obama was doing on the other side, which is what McCain needed. What confuses me is how they've attacked Obama for his inexperience and tearing him for presenting his experience, yet they are employing the same tactic when trying to show Palin as experienced. That's politics for you.
Though I still can't understand the whole "I hate big wig Washington politicians like you, but I'm asking you to put me up there please" sort of approach to this.
Anyways, I don't like the ideas of calling winners in debates unless one raped the other, which didn't happen tbh.
Honestly when I heard Palin talk about America hating countries my ears fell off. I paraphrase: "[...]hate America, hate American freedoms, hate American happiness, and hate American respect for women."
Biden came off pretty weak in my opinion though, He seemed to only stress a couple of key points, and repeating them over and over again.
Diddo about watching the debate – Interesting that the typical media already started to spin her responses and mannerisms as failure…as a few participates at the debate who were interviewed asserted that they’ve come to the point of completely ignoring what the “drive-by media” has to offer. In the next 48 hours we will see if this has helped bolster the McCain campaign. As an Independent myself, it helps the McCain campaign. I took sometime and scanned through the radio networks on Direct TV and it appears a lot of on the fence voters tend to be captivated by Palin. Palin has the “Truman effect” of being likable and appealing to voters despite party affiliation. Biden did well himself, although as a political junkie he was misleading or less than forthcoming on some of his defenses/objections about Obama and McCain. I think the Democrats have it backassward. Biden, despite my reservations, would have been a sure win with a Liberman/Biden ticket. Obama is having trouble wooing Americans mainly because he allies himself with questionable people and organizations and like a true politician deflects direct questioning about it. He’s one of those people you might associate with at work, but never invite home to meet the family.

Though i'm kind of leaning more towards Obama/Biden this election, I actually kind of got lost when Palin was talking about foreign policy. It was like a huge ramble that never really made a significant point.
Maye it was just me?

You should have seen her with Curic asked her about Alaska's relation with Russia.
Meh, most of her stuff was just re-iterating McCain's stance, and Biden did the same, but at least Biden brought in more congressional evidence.
What confuses me is Palin's such a big NRA nut, why didn't she go after Biden on that?
Palin is a genius, and will make a fine Vice President.
