Others are doing it also. With gas prices at $2.99 (here) it's a great business decision.

Wait a second, people are whining because the gas price is over $2 a gallon? I just did some calculating, and we pay nearly $6.70 a gallon :uhm:. (For the cheapest kind, ofcourse.)

Nevertheless, it's a good choice. It will most probably lead to more sales aswell, though that depends on how long they'll be selling the gas at $1.99 for.

We buy more, you get taxed more etc... We deserve to pay less. Gas will never be that much here, it would cripple our economy and nobody would be able to get to work. But that is for a old topic.

Gas is averaging 3.20+ in Washington state, I'm slightly greener when it comes to gas guzzlers, I say screw their little plan. Sure, you'll save some money buying gas, but it's how often, and how much gas you have to buy that will eventually bite you in the ass. Take my mom's advice and buy a Scion, or any other little car, or even a 1991 GMC Jimmy, I'm surprised i get 20-25mpg.

For once, we agree! Even small increases in taxes greatly increase the price - your leaders decide they want a bigger cut, pissing off the Saudis who retaliate by raising the price they are charging you.

Mitsubishi did the same thing a while ago, although I'm not sure if they're still offering it. Same deal as when GM offered Employee discounts to everyone last year. I wonder if Ford and Chrysler will do the same.

Well, you drive pansy Euro cars like Renault and Opel.

We have trucks, muscle cars, and high performance sports cars (mostly made in Europe, but sell the best in the US).

And it will be a cold day in hell before I drive a hybrid.

Jack, you may get hit more with income, but we get slapped with taxes on everything. Hell, the mayof of New York City wanted a tax based on how far you drive to work(!). Bill Clinton once proposed a tax on the number of windows in your home.
