USATODAY.com - The Army is dramatically increasing cash bonuses for enlistees and preparing to put hundreds of new recruiters on the streets in anticipation that it will have an increasingly tough time finding recruits in coming months.http://us.rd.yahoo.com/dailynews/rss/topstories/*http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story2&u=/usatoday/20040805/ts_usatoday/armyworkstoincreaseenlistees

Hehe, more and more armies are having this problem. People don't join the army anymore since there are better jobs out there, they disagree with the actions the army does or don't to bite the sand (desert dust). I wouldn't go into the army volunteerly unless it was attacked (in the tratiditionele way, not some terrorist hunt -you don't take out terrorist with armies but with special forces-) and probably try to get as officers rank. That might make me sound like a pussy but i don't care, i didn't go to college to get my brains shot out, i did go to college to use them.

Note to self: Find pants.

Hell, I'm an officer. It's pretty peachy being stateside Reserve. Once I go active, my job means I'll probably going overseas, because I specialize in Combat Search and Rescue (CSAR). I was going to be a family doctor for the Air Force (really cushy) but I talked to my old doctor (former USAF) and he said preffered field work.

The army is trying to make the attempt, but it's a bad Idea to use incentives such as College tuition. It's bad idea because people join for the money alone with disreguard for the fact that they can be deployed at any time. Then once the call comes to be deployed, they bitch and moan because they 'Didn't Expect to be deployed'. The recruiter tells them that they can be deployed at anytime, but all they hear is the part about the tuition and bonuses. By the way Moof, Are you a PJ by chance?
