I hope a chance at peace can be reached out of all this.

ub3rdid he died how he asked to die? he wanted to be buried alive, what a weird guy.

I dont remember Arafat himself claiming to say that. Arafat wished to be buried in Jerusalem, but Israel refuses with one of their ministers calling Jerusalem as the burial place of Jewish kings [of which there have been none for some time].

Arafat's wife, Suha condemned the Palestinian interim ruling authority of wanting to 'bury him alive' because they were already planning his replacement. There is some controversy with Suha, she is Arafat's estranged wife who lives in France on money sent to her by Arafat [controversy with the money and its sources].

As for Arafat, no matter which side you're on [Palestinian or Israeli], he was a great man who was the face of the Palestinian struggle for independence against Israeli occupation. Israelis should be worried as to the possible power struggles that could evolve from Arafat's death.

I hope that peace can come to this conflict and the emrgence of a Palestinian state can finally be achieved.

It means perhaps, the people will win.

Israel has its own rebel factions too. Recently, Ariel Sharon was threatened with death by right-wing, pro-zionism rebel leaders for planning to withdraw from the West Bank and tear down Israeli settlements. A similar 'announcement' was made when the late Israeli PM, Yitzhak Rabin, signed the Oslo Accords for peace with Yasser Arafat, right before he was shot and killed by an Israeli fundamentalist.

first of all, i feel bad for Arafat.

now, about the who is going to win or not, i think it is getting closer to an end, some people think israel is going to nuke Gaza and the west bank. but that would be stupid, the radiation would hurt them too...

i think palastenians are going to fight harder now for freedom(yes freedom, and you heard it from me), so i think maybe both Israel and Palastine might take advantage of this somehow...

With any luck peace will prevail, however I fear that the opposite will occur in the gap left by Arafat.

Also, can people please stay on topic - I dont wont you all going off on tangents. Thanks.
