Hi. I don't have the Internet on my home computer, so I have to download files onto floppies at friends houses and install them from the floppies onto my home computer. I've just gotten interested in downloading new stuff for The Sims. I can get the downloads onto a floppy, insert the floppy into the computer, and open the floppy drive in MY COMPUTER, but I can't figure out how to get the files from there to be useable in The Sims. At first I tried to open the files, but it said I needed start.exe and that it coudln't find it. I searched for start.exe on my own, and found it and tried to open the files again using it. This time a DOS window opened and kept reloading repeatedly until I restarted my computer. Later I open the floppy drive in My COMPUTER and the icons for the downloads had changed to have the The Sims logo on them, and when I try to open them the Sims autorun menu comes up. My computer is a Pentium II with Windows 98. I don't know if it's the computer that's messed up or what. Please help!:( Thanks, Terery

Yeah, usb memory sticks are getting real cheap nowadays. I just got a 128 megabyte one for 10.00. Thats the same size as 128 floppy disks...

It's still good as a last-ditch option for saving stuff, or moving small files between comps, etc. It's on it's way out, though, yep.

(I have over 5000 posts in sims-related forums, in different places). Besides, I figure if the question wasn't answered, answer it anyway, it may help out some of the lurkers, and it adds to the forum to have good info.
