For those pl that get that problem when installing, about "TSData/Res/Sims3D/Sims11.package" or summut like that follow these steps U NEED TO have 6GB of harddrive space available, you can try copying the disk files to your harddrive and installing without the CDs. Make sure to follow the steps below exactly as they read, or else the install may WILL NOT work.

1. Double-click "My Computer".
2. Right-click on the Local Disk C and choose "Open".
3. Right-click inside the window and select New, and then Folder.
4. Name the folder "Disk Images" it is important that the name has a space in it.
5. Double-Click the new Disk Images folder to open it.
6. Right-click inside the window and select New, and then Folder.
7. Name this folder Disk1.
8. Repeat steps 6 and 7 while substituting "Disk1" for "Disk2" and so on until there are 4 "Disk" folders followed by a number 1 through 4. it is important to note there must not be a space between "Disk" and the number.
9. Insert Disk 1 of The Sims 2 into your CD-Rom drive and if the autoplay starts, cancel it.
10. Double-click "My Computer" to open it.
11. Right-click on your CD-ROM drive and choose "open".
12. When you see the contents of the disk in the Window, click on edit at the top of the window and choose "Select All".
13. All the contents of the disk should now be highlighted, click on Edit at the top of the window again and choose "Copy".
14. Open the "Disk1" folder you created under c:\Disk Images , Click on Edit at the top of the window and choose Paste. This will copy the contents of the CD into the "Disk1" folder.
15. Repeat steps 9 through 14 for the remaining disks until you have copied each disk into its apropriate folder.
16. Once all the disks have been copied, remove ALL CDs from any drives.
17. Open the "Disk1" folder under Disk Images and double-click on "autorun.exe" to start the installation.

Here's the updated info from EA Customer support:

In this process, you copy the game files to the desktop, so that the disk, although necessary for running the game, is not necessary for installation.
1. Right-click on the Desktop and choose New and then Folder.
2. Insert Disk 1 into the drive.
3. Exit any autoplay screen that may appear.
4. Open My Computer.
5. Right-click on the CD-rom drive containing Disk 1 and choose Open.
6. Click on Edit at the top of the window.
7. Click on Select All.
8. Click on Edit again.
9. Click on Copy.
10. Close the window.
11. Right-click on the New Folder on your desktop and choose Paste.
• The game files will now copy.
• Once the files from Disk 1 are copied, repeat steps 2-5 for Disk 2.
• Open the Setup folder on the disk.
• Hold the Ctrl (Control) key on your keyboard whilst clicking on Data3 and then Data4.
• This should highlight both files.
• Click on Edit.
• Click on Copy.
• Close the window.
• Open the New Folder.
• Right-click on the Setup folder and choose Paste.
• The Data files should now copy over.
• When this is complete, remove all disks from any drives.
• Open the Setup folder.
• Double-click on the Setup icon that looks like a computer.
• The installation should now begin.

OMG you guys.. I really think i've messed my Sims 2 up by trying to do all of this!! first I tried zMas's post [My CD was in the (E:)] & when I tried to copy & paste everything in the Disk1 file it said that it was "the same file as the source folder" so I didnt know what to do so i made another file in the [C:] as Disk Images and that didnt work.. it took everything off my disc 2 and when I open the Sims 2_1 or Sims2_2 [E:] instead of it saying "Files On CD" @ the top it says "Files Ready to be written to the CD"!! so when i tried the second disc it doesn't even show an autoplay screen... IDK Really! I just need help.. What am i supposed to do? Do you think I should just try to take it back and tell them somethings wrong w/ the CD and exchange it for another one? Please e-mail me at MiSsLiLQtPie143@aol.com or comment me back cause I am VERY confused!

There shouldn't be any problem with the cd itself.. Did you have the game installed properly before this?
