 I am having problems trying to install Sims Makin Magic. I have Sims Deluxe, Vacation, Unleashed and Superstar. Every time I try to install Makin Magic I get the following error message at 95% Component: Expansion Shared File Group: Expansion Shared File: f:\setup\data2.cab Error: Data error (cyclic redundancy check). After I click OK on the error message, the message goes away and the set up completely shuts down. If you try to play the game it says Sims or Sims Deluxe is not installed. I have tried uninstalling everything and reinstalling in the order listed above and it always comes to the same message. I also tried disabling my anti-virus software as the "install guide" suggested but still no luck. Has anyone had this problem before and if so, how do I fix this. I bought this for my 11 year old daughter and she would really like to be able to play it.
It seems from what I've been able to gather, that super star and makin magic hate each other, as many people have been complaining that Makin Magic doesn't work right with Super Star, but Maxis doesn't give any information about it. You might just want to start the install with a clean slate and take everything off your computer and re-install everything. That and make sure that the MM disk is clean.
When i put the sims makin magic disc 2 in for part of the installation it says unexpected failure what wrong?it won't work i have the deluxe version already installed.
