I don't spend enough time here
29th October 2006
Okay, the last two days I have racked my brain trying to figure out what might be going wrong and I've run out of ideas. I am trying to play Makin' Magic and everytime I make a family, buy a lot and move in the time freezes at whatever time it starts at on the game *6:30 or seven am on mine* the characters will not move, don't do anything you want them to do like move around, talk, ect ect. It will not let me go into the buy or build mode at all. I've rebooted, I've uninstalled and reinstalled everything and it still does the samething. I'm running the origional sims, livin' large and hot date. If anyone could help, it would be greatly appreciated. This is driving me batty, lol. Thank you!!!
I didn't make it!
I've been having basically the same issue. I currently have all expansions for Sims 1. I install each of them (excluding Makin Magic) in order and each install seems to go well. Once it asks for CD1 of Superstar for the last time before finishing the install it first tells me to put in the correct cd. Obviously I double check the cd to make sure, but it's the right cd. So I take the cd out and put it back in and then the install finishes fine. The real issue starts once I start strying to play. The splash screen doesn't show up, but the words do. Then the game loads seemingly fine. I click on create new family and the small box that's supposed to tell me about creating my family sort of flickers when I scroll the pointer over it. I'm able to get around that issue by guessing where the "okay" or "continue" is on hte boxes but once I try to purchase a house to play is freezes. I know it shouldn't be an issue with my pc...because I can play Makin Magic with no issues without SS installed. I really can't figure it out. I've replaced SS a few times already, so I don't believe it's a disc issue, and I've already checked the Sims website but can't seem to find anything there. Anyone have any ideas?
