i installed sims 2 and now when i try to play it, it says error, cd/dvd emulation software detected, please disable it and restart the game. what does this mean? and how can i fix it.

Lock the Smis 2 in a large steel safe and put it under tight security until EA release the patch!!! :deal:

brinasue, do you have any cd/dvd copying programs (like clonecd) on your computer ? if so you'll have to turn it off (maybe even uninstall it, depending on who you ask) for the game to work... if not i have no idea what could be causing the error. hope this helps :-)

One thing i Know is if you used Alcohol 120% (or 52%) to make the CD Copy, it makes an Emulated Drive. You want to turn that off in the settings.

Yes it if have those stated above turn them off.... i know i had the smae problem wiht COD UO i had to delete my clone CD for it to work. just take them off and you will be able to play sims 2 :) Later ~Snoop912~
