Hello, I am hoping that someone great can help me with this problem i am having.

I have installed the sims 2 deluxe dvd. It has installed fine, but when i try to start up the game it freezes on a graphic (a logo) i hear a few seconds of music then nothing, - task manager - not responding. I have spent the past 4 hours looking up forums and trying to find a solution - I have found nothing that works. My laptop is new and this is one of the first things I have installed on it so far. I have vista - business version, my video card is The Mobile Intel GM965 Express chipset features. System Specs Windows: Windows NT6.0 (Build 6000) Memory (RAM): 2039 MB CPU: Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU T7100 @ 1.80GHz CPU Speed: 1792.7 MHz Sound card: Speakers (Realtek High Definiti Display Adapters: Mobile Intel(R) 965 Express Chipset Family | Mobile Intel(R) 965 Express Chipset Family | RDPDD Chained DD | RDP Encoder Mirror Driver Screen Resolution: 1280 X 800 - 16 bit - its on 16bit because on the intel website it had a solution for the sims, - changing to 16bit and making the program start in a window. This did not change anything.

I have installed the patch, had no luck with that, have re installed my video card driver, that didnt work either.. I have installed directx 10.

I dont really know what else I can do.. Hoping someone out there has a solution for me.

I thought that my video card would be compataible.. perhaps its not.. Im trying to stay positive and hope that's not reason.

Havent ever played the game before, just bought it today...pretty annoying to get home and cant play it!!

Hi, I'm using Vista and I loaded Sims 2 on it with no problems, but I had to be in adminstrator mode and click 'allow' it does take ages to load though that I can almost go off make dinner and come back and its still on the loading screen. Hope this helps. X
