I'm having a problem with the Auto-Lights feature. For some reason, the lights won't go out unless my Sims fall asleep in the room, or leave the lot altogether. But, I know that the Auto-Lights are supposed to go out when a sim leaves the room. Does anyone know how to fix this?

Also, does anyone know how to make custom objects (like posters and signs, things you can't make with the programs that came with The Sims 2)? I'd like to make some objects for a lot I want to upload.

Iam not sure about the auto lights thing, it works fine for me. As far as making objects, theres programs out that can help you. I dont know the names of them, cuz I could never make objects lol, try to look in modthesims2.com or axebladesims Axebalde is a member here just click his siggy and you shall see, or you can try to google for the programs you are looking for..

A glitch in the software or an incompatibility w/ your hardware is a probable cause. Try re-installing the game.

I have re-installed the game, and it didn't fix it. As for compatibility issues, considering I've got an ATI Radeon X850 XT graphics card, there shouldn't *be* any compability issues with the game. This problem occured before I got my new graphics card.

I've also got the patch for the game, so I'm really at a loss as to why the auto-lights aren't functioning properly.

Iam not sure either, and re installing isnt always the fix all, do you have downloads that could be meesing up your game, like hacked objects and such..

I have a feeling that some of the stuff I downloaded and installed from the Maxis site and from Sims2Files.com, may have included hacked objects, unbeknownst to me.

ModTheSims2.com people say that the Auto-Lights were originally set up to work like they are, and they have a mod simply referred to as "smarter lights" but I can't get to that download, because it's restricted to MST2 staffers only...

Either way, I think it's stupid that Maxis would change the auto-lighting feature from TS1 to what it is in TS2...

Hacked objects can be a pain in the you know where, lots of them can do some major damage to your game, I know all to well about that and in my case I did have to take all the downloads out and start over fresh, yes its a pain, but...
