Most maps in BF1942 and most Secret Weapons maps runs fine to on my machine, but when I play Hellendoorn and Kbely Airfield, the game starts with a good framerate but gets progressively worst as the game goes on. It gets so bad that I am only good for snipping still targets, (dorks or other peeps with my framerate). Kbely is the worst. What could it be? I have an 1000Ghz Amd Athlon, 256Mb of ram, 440 MX Geforce4, sound blaster live and a fast ADSL connection. It cannot be the connection for when the framerate decreases, my ping remains the same, around 30 to 50. Could it be the maps have the so called memory leaks on the new textures or something?

My specs are considerably better than yours and my framerate also drops a fair bit on some maps, although it only gets progressively worse if more players join the server. The maps are definetly not optimized as good as the normal BF maps are, not much you can do about it except upgrade your pc or wait for a patch to be released that addresses the issue.

Try adding more ram. 256 isn't that much anymore especially if you are running Windows XP which is a ram hog. Those maps lag more because they are more resource intensive and your specs are a little low. I never have a problem with any of the maps, but I just upgraded my video card to a GeForce FX with 256mb of ram. My system has 768 mb of ram, so I have plenty to go around.

yeah i dont have lag too, and my specs are: sound card: audigy gamer video card: radeon 9500 pro RAM: 768MB pc133 CPU: 1461 MHz AMD directX: 9.0 os: windows xp home, cd drive: wright: 52 read: 52 re-wright: 24 so the ram and video card is prolly why you have lag.

That probably explains why I am one of the last peeps in the game. RAM is cheap now, I'll do that. Thanks guys.

I used to have 256... I couldn't play Unreal 2 unless it was on low texture quality. Now i have 768! Memory is not a problem for me. If your a gamer you should have at least 512 megs of RAM.

yeah, i used to have 512 megs of ram, it was ok but could be better. so i replaced one of the two 256 chips with a 512 chip, and now it loads so freakin fast.

It's always the maps not your Computer. I totally noticed it especially on Kbely Airfield and on Hallondorn right where the Rocket backpack is. When they come out with a new patch soon it will fix that issue for sure. Kbely Airfield is also a stupid map anyways
