anyone in here know of good programs used by server admins to boot players based on IP addresses or their CD-keys instead of their names? *X-LR* Darharhar i know you were talkin about one in a different thread... is there one program like that which pretty much everyone uses or are there plenty? i'm starting up a n00b training server with Kain Dagain and a useful tool would be that program for people who want to have their way with the n00bs we're training. thanks in advance to anyone who can help me out :bows:

A good idea man.

I know it's been implemented in other games but I hadn't heard of anyone doing it on AvP2. Then again I haven't really looked. Like he said, :agreed any info would be ideal. :naughty:

the programs i was talking about arnt finished yet. they work for people who have the old version of them but only people who have the mod can play in the server. it sucks but from what im told acid and some other modders are working hard on making a admin mod that will allow servers to boot players simply by clicking on their name in the tab menu. (also i was told by a friend of mine that at the same time they are considering adding a new ban feature to the mod by right clicking.)

Theres most likely no program for banning people by cd-key, too many ways for someone to abuse that

damn. and banning IP addresses doesn't really work since half the people on AvP2 have cable which uses dynamic IP addresses and DHCP servers... shitness. thanks for letting me know anyways though

Most cd-key bans only show you the last half of the CD key, which is banned. The last have is as unique as the whole thing, or at least it should be.

i seriously dont think its possible to ban cd-keys and even so you can ban 2 of mine i have 3 different cd keys (no i didnt download or steal one) my friend no longer plays avp 2 so i can use his and i have two copies cuz im a dork and believe that two house computers should use 2 copies.)

so even if you banned my first two i would just come back :P
