What is the point of storing files on CDs if they won't last more than two years? All over the Internet everyone automatically talks about burning whenever the word backup is mentioned. Doesn't that give a user a false sense of security?

I've been paranoid the last eight months or so. Haven't burned a single CD. As a result I have a folder with about 10gb of photos alone...

Just like CorT said, get a 160gb (or so) harddrive for about $50 and use it for backing all your shit up. HDD's usually last 5-10 years.

You see me drivin' down the street, I'm bored with looking good I got both hands on the wheel, The cops are comin' I'm listening to music with no fear You can hear it too if you're sincere

'Cause I'm a punkrocker, yes I am Well I'm a punkrocker, yes I am 'Cause I'm a punkrocker, yes I am Well I'm a punkrocker, yes I am

I see you standing in the street, and you can't stay on your feet And your faking in your sleep, you wish that you were deep You can't hear me laughing to myself If you could you would be someone else

'Cause I'm a punkrocker, yes I am Well I'm a punkrocker, yes I am 'Cause I'm a punkrocker, yes I am Well I'm a punkrocker, yes I am

You see me die on bleaker street, I'm bored with being God You see me steerin' in my car, I'm drivin' to my star I'm listening to music with no fear You can hear it too if you're sincere

'Cause I'm a punkrocker, yes I am Well I'm a punkrocker, yes I am 'Cause I'm a punkrocker, yes I am Well I'm a punkrocker, yes I am

'Cause I'm a punkrocker, yes I am Well I'm a punkrocker, yes I am

If you really hate CD's, get Hard drive trays. They allow you to change your hard drive in under a minute  definately helpful when you got a ton of data spread across multiple drives.
