I just installed the original CoD again, before remembering the reason why I uninstalled it in the first place:

Spoiler: Show

It's shite. It has no depth, no ingenuity, nothing original and it's unrealistic. United Offensive was even worse, and I definately won't reinstall that - the Gearbox cunts, to make up for their horrific level design, used unlimited enemies. You'd sit on a street sniping Germans as they came round a corner, and they'd just keep coming. They never ran out of troops, nor did they ever learn not to go round that particular corner due to my zeroing of the buggers that do. Idiotic.

Infinity Ward need to look at games like Knights of the Old Republic, Half-Life 2 and Operation Flashpoint and learn alot from them. All they are doing is making the games which the game-sceptics are criticising - the mindless killing ones - the ones with no story or one which tries too hard to be good. Operation Flashpoint was complex, and the AI learned from your every assault. If you used a rifle grenade and knocked out four of their guys at once, they would space the remaining soldiers further apart to prevent such a thing happening again. If you flanked them, they would split a small number of soldiers from the main force to watch their rear. It's ingenius. If someone could adapt that sort of thing to an FPS, they'd have an instant classic.

KotOR's combat was nothing like CoD's, but it was still more complex and was based on the player's ability to make decisions and not the level's plentiful supply of bullets.

Half-Life 2 had tactics and dialogue during combat, and running out in front of the enemy would guarentee you'd get killed. In CoD, even on hardest, you can arm yourself with grenades and a very fast machine gun and clear the level on your own without stopping for a rest.

I have always hated Gearbox because of their lazyness, so of course I won't get their stupid OFP-rip-off game 'Brothers in Arms'. They had their stupid unlimited enemies in Opposing Force (Half-Life 1) too. Twats.

/me uninstalls CoD.

The multiplayer is pretty damn cool. I swear I was 32/2 the other night. The server was full of idiots.

Indeedee, the multiplayer is cool. However, the United Offensive multiplayer was ruined by tanks and panzershrecks.

You have obviously gone crazy. Base Assault is awesome.
